Co-President’s Report

Tricia Byam,

Sarah Poulin,

I hope everyone’s school year is off to a successful start! If you did not get a chance to grab your excuse pads or calendars, there are order forms on our website. Just send into school with your payment, and we will get them home to you.

Many of our TEPTO volunteers have been busy working on fundraisers and events to take place in the fall. They are all spotlighted in this newsletter so read on to find out about what’s coming up. We had a very successful Ice Cream Social a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for all who went and those who volunteered their time.

Our volunteers are our greatest assets! Whether you are a new parent to our school or a veteran, we look forward to seeing you! Feel free to contact anyone on the Board if you have any questions about how things work or are interested in volunteering your time. For contact information, go to either http://www.bgp.tolland.k12.ct.us under the “community” tab or to http://www.tis.tolland.k12.ct.us under the “Tolland PTO” tab. We don't send much paper home anymore, so be sure to check out the info we post in each of the school's digital backpacks or "like" us on Facebook (Tolland Elementary PTO) to get all of our communications, as well as our requests for help with a fundraiser or event. Contact our membership coordinator, Kim Santini at to learn more on how to help out.

Art to Remember

Students have been working hard in their art classes at Birch Grove and TIS to complete theirArt To RememberArtwork. Kindergarten students focused on shape and line, while the other grades drew animals. Soon you will be able to order your children’s artwork on a variety of items such as ornaments, lunch bags, and keychains. These make great Christmas gifts for family members!

Staff Appreciation

Cecilia Klember,

Samantha Wesoly,

Our teachers and staff have been working hard to help the students adjust to their new routines and classrooms. As our way of saying “thank you,” the PTO would like to treat the teachers and staff at both Birch Grove and Tolland Intermediate with some Fall themed baked goods (breads, cookies, muffins…whatever inspires you!) on Wednesday, October 28th.

If you are able to contribute a yummy item on the the morning of October 28th, please contact Cecila Klember () for BG or Sam Wesoly () for TIS.

Colleen Yudichak,

The Lyman Pie Fundraiser is back….just in time for the upcoming holidays! Lyman pies are a quick and easy way to treat family, friends and co-workers to a fresh pie in minutes. Forms were sent home, if you did not get one, please let us know.

Box Tops for Education

Jessica Burney,

Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy what it needs. Box Tops are worth 10 cents and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. Last year we earned $6,000. There will be a winner from every grade.

The BTFE.com website has lots of coupons and contests for schools to win thousands of dollars. There are also opportunities to earn eboxtops, simply by shopping online at your favorite schools. Thanks for helping our schools with Box Tops!
