Clinical Counselor
The Counseling Center invites applications for a Clinical Counselor to join a flourishing, collaborative-spirited clinical team providing undergraduate and graduate students individual and group counseling, triage and crisis intervention as well as outreach programming and consultation in a fast-paced and dynamic counseling center. This is a full-time, 9 month position during the academic year, and will share in provision of on-call services
Reporting to the Director of Counseling, the Clinical Counselor will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse campus constituencies including student organizations, administrators, faculty and interdepartmental and student affairs staff. The Clinical Counselor will conduct intake assessments; Maintain caseload of individual clients; Facilitate therapy/support groups; and Manage triage and crisis intervention for at-risk students. S/he will develop and implement innovative outreach programming to promote healthy development and wellness. The Clinical Counselor will be expected to maintain clinical documentation in accordance with legal and professional guidelines, and will provide supervision to undergraduate and practicum-level interns
A Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and licensure or license-eligibility in New York State (within year of assuming position), along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in individual and group counseling is required. Work experience in a college counseling center or with a college-age or graduate school population is preferred. Proven experience working with clients with eating disorders, alcohol/substance use and Autism Spectrum Disorder is desirable.
