Learner Activity: Students will create business cards and a letterhead for Chuck Xpress Delivery using such features as textboxes, word art, graphics, drop case, etc.

Reflection/Lesson Evaluation: The students enjoy this activity a lot. After they master this assignment, they make their own letterhead to use throughout the school year on all assignments they also create personal business cards.

DESKTOP PUBLISHING

LETTERHEAD/BUSINESS CARD PERFORMANCE EVENT

You are the marketing manager for a delivery company called Chuck Xpress Delivery & Parcel Service. You have been asked by the owner to create a letterhead and a personal business card for the company.

Use Publisher features such as textbox, auto shapes, colors, WordArt, graphics, bullets, and rotated text to create these documents. Remember to be consistent and make the documents match. Be creative and show me what you know about Publisher.

Assessment 1- Letterhead

  1. Start a new Publisher document, set all margins to .05.
  2. Your letterhead must include the following information:
  1. Chuck Xpress Delivery & Parcel Service
  2. 13243 Chicago Street
  3. St. Louis, Missouri 63134-1687
  4. Phone: 314-885-3901
  5. Fax: 314-885-3902
  6. The Quick, Safe, Delivery Company (this is the company slogan)
  1. You must also create a logo to represent the company.
  2. The information at the top of the document should not take up more than 2 inches of space.
  3. If you use information at the bottom of the document, it should not take yp more than 1 inch of space.
  4. Add your name to the document before printing.
  5. Print one copy – print to color if needed.
  6. Save the letterhead as Xpress ltrhead on your C: drive.

Assessment 2-Business Card

  1. Open the Business Card template from Publisher.
  2. Save to your C: Drive as Xpress Business Card.
  3. Create a business card.
  4. Include the company logo and all of the information listed in step #2 of the letterhead directions. (address, phone, fax, web address, slogan, company name)
  5. Include your name and your title, Marketing Manager.
  1. Do not copy and paste cards, only print one – print to color if needed.

Attach the printouts to the scoring guide and hand-in.
