Scholarships
A listing of February and March scholarships can be found on the bulletin board in the Guidance Area and after February 5th on the HCS website. Grade 12 students are strongly encouraged to pick up a copy as soon as possible and to visit the bulletin board regularly for other post-secondary information.
2018 Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) program
The 2018 Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) program has been launched. The program provides selected students with a summer job of up to ten weeks in duration. Grade 12 students planning to attend a post secondary institution full time this Fall can now apply online at students will be notified in April.
Pink Shirt Anti-Bullying Day
Wednesday, February 28th is Pink Shirt Anti-Bullying Day. Students and Staff are encouraged to wear pink in recognition of Anti-Bullying.
Grade 3-8 French Enrichment Activity
We have great news! Grade 3 to 8 students will be visiting the Atlantic Cinéma in Woodstock on February 16th . This will be a first time opportunity for Hartland Community School students. We will be leaving our school at 8:45 and returning at 11:30. We will be viewing the French movie “Despicable Me 3” and enjoying some treats. A permission slip with further information will be sent home shortly.
Skating at the Hartland Arena:
Kindergarten students will go skating February 7th ,14th , 21st and 28th from 10:15-11:15.
Grade 1 students will go skating on February, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 12:45-1:45.
Grade 2 students will be going skating on February 8th, 15th and 22nd from 10:00-11:00.
No School for Students
Provincial Family Day on February 19th
Professional Learning ½ Day. Classes dismiss at 11:55 a.m. February 27th
March Break
There will be no classes for students from March 5th -9th. Classes will resume on Monday, March 12th. Have a fun and safe break!
Grade 5 PIF Flip Day
On February 5th, the Gr. 5 students who are currently in Mme. Kee’s Intensive French class will begin their Post-Intensive French term with Mrs. Hargrove and Mrs. Waugh. The students currently in Pre-Intensive French with Mrs. Hargrove and Mrs. Waugh will begin their Intensive French term with Mme. Kee.
Hartland Huskies Senior Boys Hockey
The last league home game will be
Monday February 5th at 7:30 vs NHS.
They will travel to NHS to play Sunday February 11that 6:00.
They will host WHS in an exhibition game Monday February 12th at 7:30. Playoffs will begin the week of February 19th.
The Alumni game will be held Friday March 2nd at 7:30. All funds raised from the Alumni game will go towards the new Hartland arena.
Grad Reminder
This is a reminder to all Grade 12 Students that Grad Fees were to be paid in full by February 1, 2018. Please submit your payment to Mrs Scott as soon as possible.

Valentines Day Dance
The next school dance will be held on Wednesday, Feb 14th from7-9 p.m. for middle school and7-9:30 p.m. for high school.
Cost is $4.00 for middle and $5.00 for high school.

Grade 4 Nursing Home visit:Grade 4 students will be visiting residents of the Central Carleton Nursing Home on Wednesday, February 21st from 3-4 p.m.to spread some cheer. Our students continue to represent HCS well and bring many smiles to the faces of the residents they visit!
Staff Appreciation Prayer Service
There will be a prayer service organized by the Hartland Ministerial Association in honor of Staff Appreciation week at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 13th in the HCS cafetorium. Students, staff and community members are welcome to attend.
