Join Sterling Recreation for our Summer Lake Program!

Half-Day Program:8:30am–12pm

Full-Day Program:8:30am–4pm

The Sterling Recreation Department is happy to announce that we have extended one of our most popular summer programs to a full-day experience. The Summer Lake Program has been a Sterling staple for years, and now the fun doesn’t have to stop atnoon! We still offer our half-day option, but the full day option offers twice as much fun. The full-day program will allow participants to take some mini field trips to places like Mulligan’s and the Clinton Strand.

Teen writing program at Conant Library

The Friends of the Conant Public Library of Sterling invites library patrons in grades six to eight to write a short story to submit to this year’s Writing Slam. Stories should be a minimum of two pages. Writers can choose any topic, and they have the option of creating graphics to go with the story.

The deadline to enter is Wednesday, June 1. Please drop off your submissions at the circulation desk in the library, or email to .

All participants will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Barnes & Noble gift certificate. The winner will be announced at a gathering on Thursday, June 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the Baker Room at the library, 4 Meetinghouse Hill Road in Sterling. Refreshments will be served.

All submissions will be bound into a journal that will be available in the local history section of the library.

The Friends of the Conant Public Library supports many programs and resources that are available through the library, including E-books, passes to cultural attractions, and children’s programs.
