engaging lessonsandpupil assessmentfor againstthe progressionofskills.This schemeof workhas increased the
confidenceofteacherstounderstandhowto challengepupils appropriatelywithinthe skillsettheyaretrainingforandhas
improved qualityof lessonsforallchildren onroll.
PlaygroundMarkings:Themarkings now includetwonetball courts,a ‘mirror-me’ dancemat,hopscotch,snakes andladders, a fitnesstrail andaroadmapforour FoundationStagepupils The markings are available for BreakfastClubandStayPlay attendeesaswellas warmupactivitiesfor

capacityandasaresult StJude’sfootball teams(15 pupils)haveachieveda varietyof awards includingY6Div2 Portsmouth League,Y5VictoryCupandPGS Tournament. Girls’football(8 pupils)has alsobeen introduced thisyear andthey wererunnersupin theY5/6Leagueaswell as quarter-finalistsin theHampshireCup. Membersofstaff havelitapassionwithin pupils for Hockeyalsodueto theirown interestsandskills.Pupilshavebeen activelyencouraged tocontinuetheir
successandenjoymentthroughlinkstolocal clubs.
FootballClubsprovided byPompeyin the Community: This football/activityclubis provided forall children acrossthe school andisfreetopupils where particularneedis identified. / £500 / This highprofilepartnershiphas been a

StaffCPDfromPompeyIn The Community: / Staff havebenefittedfrom professional developmentwhichhas complemented the
KeyPESports Schemein use. Thishas increasedteacher confidenceindelivering goodqualitylessonsforallpupilsand progressespupils appropriatelyat each level. Whereteacherconfidenceis improved, increasedtimespentonteachingthesubject has impacted positivelyonthe children’s activitylevels.
Transportfor External Opportunitiesand Competitions: Transportforfootball,hockey and athleticshasensuredwecanmaximise learning time,reducebarrierstoaccessing sportandensuresafearrivaland departure of pupils asa collective. / £1487 / Wehavebeenablethroughthis fundingto
promoteteambuildingandincreasethe activitylevelsof60pupilsinvolved.Dueto locationof school, transporttonorth ofcity where mostcompetitionshavebeen heldis difficult andopportunities haveopenedup for alltocompetewithoutrelyingona parentwhocanescortpupils.
SwimmingLessons–Allchildren inYear5 hadhalf termof swimminglessons and allocationwillincludetransportationtoand from Mountbatten Leisure,SwimmingHats, entrytothepoolandadultcoaching. / £1097 / This notonlysupports us inour statutory
dutytoteach swimmingbutincreasesthe numberof childrenwhoareconfident in the waterandcanswimadistance of25metres competently. 55childrenhaveexperienced a rangeof strokesandunderstandbetter howto staysafein thewater.
Outdoor Resources–purchase,installation andprotectionforBasketball Posts. / £2716 / Equipmentisofhighqualityandnew,
thereforepupils areenthusiastic aboutthe use ofthesepostsandtheyhavea respect for keepingtheequipmentnewfor as long
as possible.Children use thesepostsintheir freetimeandareabletotryanewsport withoutthepressureofcompetition
amongstpeerswhereitisnotinvited. Teachersareabletodeliver goodquality basketball/multi-skill lessons whichallow children tobecomefamiliar with therulesof the game.Duetothenumber of posts,
thereismoreopportunityfor in/outgames whichminimisetheamount oftimechildren areinactive.
