Beginning fall of 2008, one $200 scholarship will be given in memory of Chet Randolph (longtime WHO radio farm broadcaster, host of Market to Market on Iowa Public Television, advocate for agriculture and involvement of young people) by Chet Hollingshead of Ogden, Iowa to a college upperclassmen majoring in an agriculture related field.

Eligibility - Current college student who participated in Boone County 4-H or Boone High School FFA program for at least two years and through the time of his/her high school graduation. The college student needs to have completed at least 50 semester hours and not yet earned a B.S. or B.A degree. May receive this scholarship only once. Former 4-H’ers may apply for and potentially receive this scholarship and a Boone County 4-H alumni scholarship the same year.

Procedure - Applications are due to address or email above by September 15. Selection will be Boone County 4-H Youth Committee. Presentation by Chet Hollingshead and/or Ruth Kenny-Randolph at

4-H Awards Day in November. Scholarship checks will be written to the student and college to be used for education expenses.

Selection Criteria – Knowledge and involvement with agriculture as evidenced by career goals and essay.
