Position Overview
The Operations and Compliance Manager position is a critical role and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operations, from strategy and planning to tactical daily execution of all business processes and workflows including new account opening, client billing, trade clearing and settlement, compliance, asset custody, client reporting and other activities for all products and services. The Operations and Compliance Manager serves as an intermediary between the operations team and the advisors and will also be charged with keeping the firm compliant with all rules and regulations. The manager will supervise the operations department and will also be responsible for establishing or contributing ideas for department process, procedures, and protocols.
Position Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day firm operations, including account opening, transfers and distributions; brokerage operations, platform operations, billing, reconciliation and performance reporting
Responsible for working with outside compliance consultants to ensure Bond and Devick is following all rules and regulations and is meeting or exceeding industry best practices
Serve as primary operations contact for custodians, financial reporting software and all other software companies (Money Guide Pro, Morningstar, etc.)
Respond to direct client requests.
Backup trading and investment model maintenance
Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operationalmanagement efficiency and development
Establish and manage operations workflows on Redtail
Ensure that quarterly fees (and periodic interim fees for new accounts) are charged properly
Track production, asset levels and incoming assets for weekly numbers to be disseminated to entire team
Maintain and update operations manual
Required Skills and Experience
5 or more years of operational experience in the financial services industry, preferably with a fee-based RIA firm
Knowledge of advisory regulatory structure and operational compliance requirements
Knowledge of basic financial services operational functions, including trading, reconciliation, billing and performance reporting
Prior corporate managerial experience preferred
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Excellent follow-up and follow-through capabilities
Personable, approachable with a positive attitude
Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to set priorities
Able to work independently with good problem solving, quantitative and time management skills
Proficient with Windows based software, including MS Word and Excel
Knowledge of portfolio management, fee billing software, CRM software (Redtail a plus)
Strong customer service/support/relations skills
Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with other team members
Ability to work well under stress and to stay focused despite interruptions
Licenses
Series 7, 63 and 65 desired
Educational and Professional Designations
BA/BS Degree from nationally recognized institution
