14)You need to be able to explain what occurs during a chemical reaction so write the following three times: A chemical reaction creates/produces a new substance. This new substance has different properties than the starting substances. The materials that react or that are started with are reactants and the materials that get made or end with are products. The products will always be different than the reactants in a chemical reaction.
