Are you eligible for the funding? This program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over, who is no longer at school and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident, and does not have and is not enrolled in a certificate IV or higher-level qualification.
If you are not eligible for this funding then the cost is $3006, which can be paid for via an interest free payment plan after paying an initial 25% deposit.
Course details
On successful completion of this course students will acquire the knowledge and skills to provide training and support to people with disabilities to enhance their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance and community participation report to service managers and may liaise with health professionals and other service agencies work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of lower classified workers.Completion of this course will enable you to work in the disability support community and/or in residential facilities autonomously or as a supervisor.

For students to utilise the computer/internet/learning management systems at TAFE Queensland necessary to undertake this course they willneed access to computers for approximately 2 hours a day or 10-15 hours per week, with specifications as follows:
- Internet connection (ADSL or Cable Broadband recommended)
- Windows PC or Apple Mac - please note: portable devices (smartphones, iPads, tablets, slates) are notsupported by my.TAFE, and may not work properly for assessments
- Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels
- Computer running Windows XP/Vista or Apple Macintosh OSX 10.1
- Minimum browser versions: Firefox 3.6 (highly recommended for students), Google Chrome 8, Safari 5, Internet Explorer 7 with Google Chrome Frame installed, Internet Explorer 8 (older versions of browsers may not correctly display information)
- Students require at least intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and web browsing
