Electricity
If electricity is required a step up box is needed to connect to the electricity supply off the lampposts to convert from 110V to 240V. A cable with 3 pin connector is needed to connect to from the step up box to the supply and a further cable to connect from the step up box to your equipment.
The electric supply can not be used to power anything that hits boiling point, e.g. kettles, since it will trip the rest of the electric supplies. No heaters allowed. Please note hot plates can be used.
Gas - Gas cylinders are not allowed.
Stalls / Pitch Size
Town council provided stalls are 8ft wide by 4ft deep. A canopy is provided, but not side coverings, and you will need your own tablecloth/cover to go over the boards provided.
Vehicles - Must be removed from the high street by 9.30am.
Parking - Stallholders may purchase an annual parking permit from Central Bedfordshire Council, CBC (linked electronically to the vehicle registration number.) Stallholders may purchase a concessionary day rate ticket from the ticket machine in the Duncombe Road car park and obtain from the Markets Officer a Town Council notice that confirms they are trading on the market that day. Only one Town Council notice is permitted per stall. The Town Council notice and CBC Parking ticket must be displayed prominently.
Permanent traders - are expected each week and are charged whether they turn up or not. Consequently 4 days holiday are allowed for per market day committed to, e.g. traders committed to one market day per week accrue 4 days holiday per year whilst traders committed to two market days per week accrue 8 days per year.You must inform the Market Officer if you are intending not to attend.
Casual traders - turn up sporadically and secure prior agreement for each attendance with the Town Centre and Market Officer to ensure space is available and where needed, a stall is provided.

Trading is subject to all required documentation being received and in date.
Please note that upon booking a pitch you are agreeing to comply with the Market Regulations as amended from time to time, a copy of which is available on request.
The Town Council is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers and to this end may use the information you have provided on this form for the prevention and detection of fraud. It may also share this information with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds for these purposes. Market Closure/Cancellation
The decision to close/cancel the Market will be made by the Town Centre & Market Officer, Town Council Officer appointed to act in his/her absence or the Town Clerk.
The decision to close/cancel will be communicated via text to the mobile phone number provided unless the Market is already running in which case the decision will be communicated in person to those present and trading.
Traders should not continue to trade after the decision to close/cancel the Market has been made. Those that do continue to trade, do so without the authority of the Town Council and at their own risk and should be aware they may not be covered by their insurance and it may impact the Town Council’s decision to allow future trading.
