In 2017, NACE New Orleans will celebrate and showcase the most innovative ideas and trends in the industry and the organization. After many years, we're excited to announce that the submission process for the 2017 NACE New Orleans Chapter Awards is now open.

Chapter Awards for the following categories will be given out at the Awards Gala:

Key Dates and Details!
●All NACE members in good standing are welcome to apply
●All final award submissions are due by Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:59pm CT. NO Exceptions will be made and no deadline extensions will be given
●All award submissions should be sent electronically, in PDF format, and include all collateral and award payment. Email submissions to Michelle Dunnick, MBA, CPCE, President, .
●Submissions, including all collateral must be received prior to the deadline.
●Chapter Members in good standing will vote online for menu of the year between Wednesday, November 8, 2017 - Wednesday, November 15, 2017.

Industry Legacy Award
●Please provide us with the full name, designation, and place of work for the nominee

Purpose
To honor an individual who has made an impact through their company or personal efforts that advanced or made a significant contribution to the catering and/or the events industry.
Requirements
●Candidate must be a professional NACE member in good standing.
●A minimum of 5 years membership is required.
●A minimum of 10 years of experience in the events industry is required.
Number of Awards
●One candidate may receive this award each year.
Judging
The Industry Legacy Award can be nominated by any NACE Professional Member in good standing and will be judged by the NACE New Orleans Chapter Board of Directors.
Section 1: Legacy (30 points) - up to 500 words
Significant contribution or legacy to the hospitality, catering, and event industry.
Such contribution may be demonstrated by any of the following items or other items of a similar nature as decided by the nominator
●An outstanding list of personal accomplishments which bring positive attention to the industry
●Development of trends which have advanced the industry
●Development and implementation of an innovative idea that resulted in a measurable increase in productivity or work quality for professionals in the industry
Section 2: Leadership (30 points) - up to 500 words
●Leadership and influence in the hospitality, catering, and events industry may be demonstrated by evidence of teaching, mentoring, significant contribution to education, chapter leadership positions held, national leadership positions held, articles written in National publications, speaker at industry conferences, etc.
Section 3: Professionalism and Service (20 points) - up to 500 words
●Dedication to professional growth and community within the hospitality, catering, and events industry as demonstrated by membership and participation in a related professional association or organization. (May include organizations other than NACE.)
Section 4: Experience (20 points) - up to 500 words
●Demonstration of a successful careerin the hospitality, catering, and events industry as evidenced by continuous advancement and professional achievement for a minimum of 10 years.
Member of the Year

Purpose
●This award recognizes members of the chapter who have demonstrated those same attributes: Dedication, Leadership and Commitment to the Mission Statement of NACE.
Requirements
●Candidate must be a professional NACE member in good standing
●A minimum of 3 years membership is required
Number of Awards
●One candidate may receive this award each year.
Judging
The Member of the Year Award can be nominated by any professional NACE member in good standing and will be judged by the NACE New Orleans Chapter Advisory Board.
Section 1: Elements Statement (max. 60 points) - up to 500 words
●The nominee’s involvement in the catering and events industry, career experience, and overall participation, contributions and involvement with NACE, how nominee has impacted NACE chapter, and why they should receive this award.
Section 2: Supporting Material (max. 40 points) - up to 500 words
●Years of membership - up to 10 points
●Local NACE chapter participation - up to 15 points
●National NACE participation - offices held, national committees served on, overall participation, contributions and involvement - up to 5 points
●Demonstrated mentoring and passion for the catering and events profession (speaking at NACE and non- NACE conferences, teaching classes, articles written, etc.) up to 5 points
●Other honors or awards the nominee has received, community involvement, public press coverage in bullet point format - up to 5 points
●Information supporting the nominee’s actions (e.g. letters of recommendation from NACE members, NACE-related beneficiary or related parties, photos, etc. (scan and upload information) up to 5 points
Rising Star
●Please provide us with the full name, designation, and place of work for the nominee
●Please provide us with a photo of the nominee
Purpose
Candidates will have demonstrated chapter involvement through service to the chapter on a committee or the Board, and shown great initiative in these endeavors.
Requirements
●Candidates must be a professional NACE member in good standing for at least one year, but no more than three years.
Number of Awards
●One candidate may receive this award each year.
Judging
The Rising Star Award can be nominated by any NACE professional NACE member in good standing and will be judged by the NACE New Orleans Chapter Advisory Board.
Section 1: Elements Statement (max. 60 points) - up to 500 words
●The nominee’s overall participation, contributions and involvement with NACE and why they should receive this award.
Section 2: Supporting Material (max. 40 points) - up to 500 words
●NACE Chapter participation – offices held, overall participation, Leadership Summits/Experience! conferences attended, contributions and involvement - up to 25 points
●Other honors or Awards the nominee has received, activities, volunteer experience, awards, etc. - up to 10 points
●Information supporting the nominee’s actions (e.g. letters of recommendation from faculty member and/or academic advisor, photos, any public press coverage including NACE newsletters, etc. – up to 5 points
NACE New Orleans Ally Award
●Please provide us with the full name, designation, and place of work for the nominee
●Photo of the nominee
Purpose
This award represents a professional member who is a great supporter and who is always available to NACE the NACE Chapter by providing services, advice or resources in the event industry.
Requirements
●Candidates should be a professional NACE member in good standing.
●Candidates must have donated time and or product towards a NACE meeting and or program between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
Number of Awards
●One candidate may receive this award each year.
Judging
The NACE New Orleans Partner Award can be nominated by any NACE professional NACE member in good standing and will be judged by the NACE New Orleans Chapter Board of Directors.
Section 1: Elements Statement (max. 60 points) - up to 500 words
●The nominee’s overall participation, contributions and involvement with NACE and why they should receive this award.
●Include a testimonial from the nominee describing how NACE has personally and professionally impacted their life
Section 2: Supporting Material (max. 40 points) - up to 500 words
●NACE Chapter participation - up to 25 points (1 attachment)

Menu of the Year
●Please provide us with the full name, designation and place of work for the candidate and/or all team members
Purpose
This award recognizes outstanding achievement in menu design and/or culinary innovation
Requirements
●Any NACE professional member in Good Standing
●Team entries are allowed (min. 3 participants, max 5 participants)
●Event must have taken place between September 30, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
Number of Awards
●One candidate may receive this award each year.
Judging
The Program Menu of the Year Award will be judged by a fellow NACE Chapter Members (in good standing).
Section 1: Elements statement (max. 25 points) - up to 500 words
●List menu & explain how the menu coordinated with the event theme.
●Describe food and beverage in terms of color, texture, flavor, and presentation in support of theme
Section 2: Event concept and planning (max. 20 points) – up to 500 words
●Overall planning process timeline and day of set up timeline - up to 10 points
●Venue/Event Site - include location, description of venue, unusual/unique challenges presented by the site - up to 10 points
Section 3: Menu Productions and Execution (max. 15 points) – up to 500 words
●Describe the logistical execution of event menu, including all phases of production, plating, and delivery of finished product. - up to 10 points
●Discuss any challenges presented by the menu preparation, including technical support, special preparation techniques, etc. - up to 5 points
Section 4: Supporting Material (max. 40 points)
●Attach up to 5 photos and/or files of room shots, food, table presentations, décor, print materials, invitations, marketing materials, client-authored thank you letters, etc. (one-page collage accepted, but NOT multiple page collages)
2017 NACE New Orleans Awards Criteria 1
