To The Defenders Of The Holy Name Of God
Enclosed is the Holy Face Cross that you requested. Thank you very much for your donation if you were able to donate. To our knowledge, this is the first time since Our Lord asked that these crosses be made and worn more than 150 years ago, that they have the wording on them that He stipulated.
The cross is blessed. We ask that you wear it with great love, devotion, and gratitude for the sufferings His Holy Face endured for us.
Our Lord promised that those who wear this holy cross would have “a special resourcefulness to conquer the demon of blasphemy”, the sin which offends God the most in these modern times, and that every time one hears a curse he should repeat the two short inscriptions written on each side of the cross, and he will thus overcome the evil one and render glory to God.
The inscriptions are in Latin, the universal language, so that they will be more acceptable to people who speak different languages.
The words on the front translate to the following in English: “Blessed be the Name of God”, and on the reverse side: “Begone Satan!”.
It’s important to note that one does not become a “Defender of the Holy Name of God” by simply wearing the Holy Face Cross. To be a “Defender” one must also be willing to comply with Our Lord’s other requests which are marked off in the pamphlet.
The following will be of interest to you:
A woman in Spokane, Washington, wrote us that her mother, age 70, was diagnosed with acute glaucoma and told she would be blind. She and her mother made the Novena to the Holy Face of Jesus and the mother’s eyesight began to improve every day. Six months later she wrote that her mother’s vision was now 20-20.
Another woman wrote us after she had been wearing the Holy Face Cross for three weeks that a family member and also a co-worker had stopped taking God’s name in vain – at least around her.
A young man from Georgia told us that he worked every day with a fellow who blasphemed from morning until night. At that time he did not have a cross, but he silently repeated the words Our Lord told us to say every time the man blasphemed. At the end of one month the man stopped blaspheming completely.
A young woman, inmate of a Louisiana prison, wrote us that she shared her Holy Face pamphlet with some other inmates. Some of them made the novena of reparation and were delighted that their prayers were answered. They now plan to form a prayer group.
A mother in Tustin, CA told us that she decided not to wear her Holy Face Cross until she had read all of the accompanying literature. One day she had an argument with her teenage son over his use of a “bad word”. He flatly refused to stop saying it because he said there was nothing wrong with it. His mother decided to put her cross on and read the literature later. The next evening she came home and overheard her son scolding his younger sister for using bad language. He said that not only was he never going to use bad language again, but he would never allow anyone at home to use it either.
Another mother in Milaca, MN told us that her 16 year old son claimed her cross for himself. He wears it in school where there are many blasphemies. Each time he silently says the words the Lord instructed, and the blasphemies have greatly decreased. He seldom hears them anymore. So now the mother wants 15 more crosses for her family and friends.
In Seymour, Connecticut, a young man neglected to wear his Holy Face Cross inspite of repeated urgings by his wife. For six months it lay on his dresser. The two decided to make a Novena of Reparation to the Holy Face to obtain a favor. On the day that they finished the novena, the young man, on his way to work, found his cross on the seat next to him in his car. They decided that this must be a sign from God and so the young husband put on his cross. They also received the favor for which they had made the novena.
If you have any experiences such as the above please let us know. They are a great encouragement to others and give glory to God.
We thank you in advance for all the reparation you will make to Our Lord’s Holy Face.
God bless you,
Immaculate Heart of Mary Apostolate
