2. How did the Great Depression complete the process of destroying the Versailles settlement?

How was Europe different after the Great Depression? What does this suggest about the role

of economics versus politics in world affairs by the 1930s?

3. How and why did Stalin come to hold supreme power in the Soviet Union by 1928? In your

answer, discuss the challenges facing the U.S.S.R. after 1918, the solutions suggested by Lenin

and his colleagues, and the policies pursued by Stalin after 1928. Discuss the dynamic of

agricultural versus industrial reform as part of your answer.

4. What made fascism such an attractive political doctrine for the people of Italy and Germany?
