Chair Update – Jeff Thibodeaux

  • Membersip packet 2018 is coming. Will be on web page
  • Trauma funding – session has ended will go into a special session. Trauma funding will remain the same.
  • RAC trauma and stroke rules will be put on hold until maternal rules are developed and completed
  • EMS county funds have been distributed 100%
  • HB1407 paramedic education and LPG passed but not funded – has been placed on RAC
  • Mental health and foster care was funded during legislation
  • CVD funding 2 year cycle – courses have been successful. Not sure if funded? Funding will most likely be less. New questions are to be added to the data
  • Legislative session – HB 1148 RAC hubs creation did not pass. HB 1268 to replace DRP did not pass. RAC rider 6 million additional funds did not pass
  • NICU surveys are behind. Hospital are cancelling surveys due to fear of not being ready
  • ASLS class is full for July 28, 2017 and overflow will go toward September class
  • New structure in September – Hospital and EMS will meet together. Have a Best practice committee.
  • Hurricane season is here. Hurricane Charlie drill. After action review in Conroe
  • Fred Ortiz complete Matter of Balance class
  • Mainland Center for Level IV designation

HPP and Corridor Update – Jeremy Way

  • Hurricane Charlie exercise just completed. After action report form to be filled out and returned
  • Decon training completed. If need first receiver training call Jeremy
  • Emergency preparedness boot camp – will be doing one in Liberty Co.
  • Training – decon

EMTF 6 – Mark Sastre – deferred

Treasurer Update / BCON Update – Dave Ferguson

  • County grant is finalized
  • Receiving grant monies for next fiscal year
  • Still Tobacco monies and LPG request by July 7 course to be completed by July 30. Contact Dave if questions

Bylaws / EMS Update – Lucille Maes

  • EMS update – HB 1407 not funded (education and LPG)
  • New language in SOP membership read by Jeff Thibodeaux

  • TETAF has hired a governance group to work with the RACS to learn about RACS in the state of Texas

Committee Reports – Committee Chairs

  • Injury Prevention – Fred Ortiz – falls will be one our greates concern. Matter of Balance course. He is now a master trainer. Would like to have courses through the RAC
  • Acute Care – Treanna Kasarda – sepsis will be added to committee
  • Neonatal – Kelli Huebel – disaster preparedness. Grid of the NICU capabilities as to what their surge capabilities are. Concern from state regarding the lack of requests for surveys
  • Prehospital – Jimmy Blanchard – synthetic marijuana and OD in the field.. Will review the new rules. MD will come to speak regarding mental health issues.
  • Hospital – D Grimm Mapp – designation workshop with Stroke, Cardiac and Hospitals
  • DSHS 6/55 – 15711 rules were updated. EMS conference November 19-22 in Fort Worth.. Jurisprudence questions to be sent to rreporesentative for answers.

1000 – 1100Pre Hospital Anibiotic Discussion – Dianna Grimm-Mapp (UTMB)

  • Antibiotices in the field for open bone fractures
  • ACS TQIP 100% of patients with open fx shall have antibiotics in one hour of arrival
  • Case study of how UTMB has worked with prehospital to give IV antibiotics in the field to meet the 60 minute guidelines
  • Should this be a regional guideline?. Let us begin discussion in our area

1100 – 1200Texas Trauma Registry – Tiffany Munoz DSHS

  • NEMSIS web service onboarding June 14, 2017
  • EMS transport only option
  • EMS reporting requirements
  • Submit no reportable data within 90 days of any given month with no runs
  • Can use 3rd party service but have to have a BAA
  • Submersion data dictionary brochure available follows NTBD
  • Update TBI / SCI registry update follows NTDB
  • LTAC rehab only 10 required questions over TBI and SCI
  • New data request form available. 10 day turn around for data
  • Can we run our own regional data?. Data request would be required. There are some resrictions as to what data can be released
