C.ex Coffs Sports, Touring and Classic Car Club
ConditionalRegistration.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
1)A new member must have attended at least four (4) C.ex Coffs Sports, Touring and Classic Car Club (C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club)runs or events before they can apply for Conditional Registration.(Monthly club meetings do not count).
2)The Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) rules state vehicles must be at least 30 years old and in original and unmodified condition, although some safety items and period accessories are allowable. If in doubt contact one of the club Registrars.
3)Classic Vehicle Log Book Trial
Please note applicants must have been a satisfactory member of the C.ex Sports Touring & Classic Car club for at least twelve months to be eligible to apply for the Classic Log Book Trial.
HOW DO I APPLY
1)Download the application form “Request for issue of HSV Plates” from the C.ex Coffs S,T&C Car Club website, complete and forward to the President for Management Committee approval.
2)From a RMS office or from their website obtain forms titled “Application for Conditional Registration” (Form 1246) and a “Historic Vehicle Declaration” (Form 1259). Complete the relevant sections for vehicle details and personal particulars.
3)Arrange to either obtain a certificate of roadworthiness (pink slip) from an authorised examiner or have the vehicle inspected by one of the C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club Registrars.
4)In either case a C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club Registrar is then required to certify that the applicant is a financial member of the club and that the vehicle meets the club’s and RMS eligibility criteria. He will then affix the club’s stamp to the 1259 form.
5)Present the above forms to a RMS office, on top of the registration fee you will have to pay a small additional fee for the issue of the new plates.Note, you do not require Compulsory Third Party Insurance (Green Slip) as this is included in the RMS registration fee.
6)You will then be issued with the Registration Papers, a“Certificate of Operation” and the “H” plates.
7)If you are a member of another Historic Motoring Club and wish to attend events organised by that club you MUST have that clubs name also placed in the “Special Condition” area on the Certificate of Operation. The C.exCoffs ST&C Car Club will be the primary club and the other club the secondary club.
8)A copy of your registration papers and certificate of operation MUST be sent to the C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club President within 7 days of the registration being made.
9)Club Registrars are voluntary positions and you should not expect them to be available at short notice, do not leave your requests to the last minute.
HOW CAN I USE MY VEHICLE
Remember it is a considerable privilege we enjoy to be able to use our vehicles under the Conditional Registration Scheme however there are several stipulations we must adhere to for both the RMS and under the C.ex CoffsS,T&CCar Clubown Rules of Operation.
1)You must at all times carry the documents listed below in your vehicle.
2)The vehicle can ONLYbe used for Club events.
3)It is permissible however, to take the vehicle a VERY short distance for servicing, filling with petrol etc.
4)If you belong to another historic car club and wish to attend an event with that club, you must have that club endorsed by the RMS onto your Certificate of Operations and then advisethe C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club President(email or telephone acceptable) that you are taking the vehicle on the run with that club and have it recorded in the Clubs’ Day Book.

KEEPING MY CLUB REGISTRATION
1)You must attend at least five (5) C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club events per year to maintain your conditional registration, monthly club meetings do not count. If you have multiple cars on club registration you do not have to attend five events per car, just five events with any of your C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Clubconditional registered cars.
2)When you receive your registration renewal from the RMS you must obtain a certificate of roadworthiness (pink slip) from an authorised examiner or have the vehicle inspected by one of the Club’s Registrars.
3)Even if you obtain a pink slip, the Clubs Registrars still need to certify that the vehicle complies with the Conditional Registration rules. He will than stamp and sign the papers which can then be taken to the RMS.
4)A copy of your registration papers MUST be sent to the C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club President within 7 days of the registration being renewed.
5)If you sell the vehicle the conditional registration is not transferable. You must advise the C.ex Coffs S,T&CCar Club President within 7 days.
6)It is your responsibility to sign the runs book and fill out your car & H Plate Registration Number to record that you have attended that event.
WHAT RECORDS SHOULD I CARRY IN MY CAR
1)Registration papers and Certificate of Operation.
2)Club membership receipt.
3)Copies of any current insurance documents you may hold.
4)Calendar of Events extract from club newsletter (Idle Torque).
5)Copies of any other club correspondence (e.g. email) relevant to a run that may not be mentioned in the club’s Calendar of Events.
6)Log Book if applicable
