Dear Captains
Congratulations to you and your team for winning your division and qualifying to compete in Illinois State Championships. You will find the general information for this championship below. Other important documents are included in the championship folder on the NITA website.
Tournament Entry Fees:
Entry fees must be paid at captain'sregistration. One check per team should be made payable to NITA. Team fees are listed below on the schedule.
Captain’s Registration and responsibilities:
1. Captains and their team members who are participating in the matchare required to register 45
minutes before their first match and 30 minutes before any other scheduled match. Be preparedto
play as soon as registration is complete.
2. It is the captain’s responsibility to make sure that their players are in the vicinity of the tournament
desk and ready to play when the matches are called. Late players/teams will be penalized.
3. Scorecards will be provided for your matches. All scorecards must be submitted to the tournament
desk no later than30 minutes prior to the scheduled match. The tournament desk staff is happy to
receive scorecards prior to the 30 minute deadline and will protect the information from view.
Tournament Information:
Rules:The 2013USTA/Midwest Section State & Sectional Championship Rules andRegulationswill be used for this championshipwith the following exceptions:
- Teams must register 45 minutes prior to their first match.
- Players will be allowed 30 minutes rest between matches in the same division.
Match Format: Round Robin, best of three tie-break sets with match tie-break (Coman) in lieu of a third set
Court Surface: Hard courts–10 indoor
Locker Rooms: There are two sets of locker rooms on the main floor.
Towels: Please bring your own towels
Water & snacks:Centre Courthas water and sport drink machines. Fruit and snack bars will be provided.
Practice Courts: UNAVAILABLE! Teams will not be allowed to use empty courts for practice.
Scorecards: The home team is listed first on the attached schedule and will use the dark green background.
Coaching: Not allowed
Match Times: Matches will be called as soon as courts are available but no sooner than 30 minutes prior to the
published match time.
Rest Period: A minimum rest period of 30 minuteswill be allowed between matches. Players who wish to
waive this rest period may do so.
Eligibility: A minimum of six (6) playersmustbe available to compete at districtchampionships. A captain
must request a waiver through the district to participate with fewer thanthisnumber. Team fees
will not be reduced. Please notify your District USTA League Coordinator as soon aspossible if
less thanthe required number of players will be attending thechampionships.
Awards: Eight (8) awards will be presented to the 1st place teams.
Midwest Section Championships:Winners will be given additional information which must be completed
in order to advance to Midwest Section championships.
