Applications are invited for the post of Facilities Assistant at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the successful candidate will be working within a team responsible for the day-to-day operation of the ICMP’s facilities (the working and learning environment).

Daily tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support for the Facilities Supervisor and Facilities Manager
  • Assist with building maintenance / general DIY
  • Set up rooms for classes, exams and staff meetings
  • Assist with compliance related tasks including planned preventative maintenance checks
  • Provide frontline customer service cover for the facilities helpdesk
  • Assist and support staff and students with technical problems
  • Prepare equipment for shows and events
  • General administrative tasks
  • Musical equipment repair and maintenance

This role will be of interest to Facilities Assistants who may also have some experience maintaining and repairing contemporary musical instruments and equipment. This is desirable but not essential. An interest and ability to work in a creative educational setting is essential.

The successful candidate will have a “can-do” attitude, excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for providing a high level of customer service. They must also be prepared to undertake CPD training and occasionally work at the weekend assisting on shows and events. Working in an educational setting the successful candidate must also satisfy relevant pre-employment checks.
