for all Volvo owners,

and enthusiasts

Celebrating 25 years of the Volvo Enthusiasts Club

This is a national gathering organised by Kevin, our Club ‘Founder’, which this year will also celebrate the clubs 25th Birthday and will be held at the beautiful venue of the Jinney Ring Craft Centre, near Bromsgrove in Worcestershire.

All Volvo owners , enthusiasts and their friend & families are welcome to come along. There is lots to see and do for all the family in a lovely rural setting.

On arrival please follow the VEC Signs to the Overflow Carpark, which is through the main Carpark – please take care as you approach down the slope

Club Members - Please Book in on arrival after 11am at the Club Reception and collect Voting Forms, Refreshment Voucher etc

Sorry No Picnic’s – Catering is available on site

Club Activities will include: Members Car Boot Autojumble;

Members are encouraged to bring along any unwanted spares etc, please be aware that space may be limited so this will take the form of a Car Boot Sale. Please no trailers, large vans etc. SORRY NO TRADERS unless you are a VEC Club Member and selling from boot of your Classic Volvo

Best Volvo Awards – Sponsored by Cherished Vehicle Insurance :

There will be Best Volvo Competition and other awards including Furthest Distance Travelled to the Event, Best Restoration 2013/14 etc etc. Judging be undertaken by attending Club Members, Club Officials and Cherished Vehicle Insurance staff.

Gathering from 11am onwards - How to get there:

The Jinney Ring Craft Centre is situated in the village of Hanbury on the B4091. This is accessed from the A38 between Junctions 4 and 5 of the M5

Look forward to seeing you all there. Remember if your Volvo is not on the road why not come along in your everyday car. You may even find that part you have been looking for or meet a fellow member who knows where there is one.

All are welcome, one of our strengths, whether you have a concours car, restoration project or an everyday driver all Volvo’s, owners and enthusiasts are welcome here

Bristol Classic Car Show – WINNER Best Club!

As we go to press with this Newsletter and information on our Club’s Founders Day & 25th Birthday Gathering at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre on 6th July, 2014 . I am pleased to inform members of our success a couple of weeks ago at the Bristol Classic Car show where with a themed stand of ‘Alice in Volvoland’ we won Best Club Stand, voted for by other attending Clubs.

A full Report of the event and our other successes this Spring/early Summer will appear in the Summer Issue of the Club Magazine, due out to Members end of July. Look out for it.

Club Magazine – A full colour version:

A full colour version of all our latest club magazines can be downloaded from the Club Website. www.volvoenthusiastsclub.co.uk Up until now this has been available to all visitors to our Website. From the Summer 2014 Issue this will now be restricted with only a few ‘taster’ pages available for visiting non-members. In order for Members only to gain access, the Magazine and other items will be placed in a ‘Restricted’ area which ‘Members’ can gain access by ‘logging in’ using their current Membership No:

WHERE IS IT NOW – STOLEN 1800S - PYV 350F – Member needs your help

Around 7 years ago a Club Member purchased an 1800S from an owner who had moved to Spain. ‘Before I could collect the car it was stolen! The car a green 1800S was last seen in Estapona, Malaga, Spain’.

Member has proof of ownership. Vehicle details are as follows: Reg: No: PYV 350F first registered 19.01.1968

Chassis No: 26339 Engine No: 4013. If you have any details or know the whereabouts of this vehicle please contact me Kevin Price and I will pass the information on to the Member/Owner.

Volvo Special Tools Club Loan Service; I am in the process of relaunching the Volvo Special Tool Loan Service for Club Members of both our Club and the Volvo Owners Club, who have recently withdrawn this service for their members. I am therefore looking for ANY Special Tools which could be donated to the service for use of both Club’s membership. A full list of ‘tools’ I have so far is available on Club Website.
