Committee Descriptions and Committee Chairperson
□ Finance: Stephen Schneider ()
Oversees the financial condition and financial planning of Congregation Beth David, and for the coordination of all programs affecting the fiscal affairs or financial condition of the Congregation.
□ House:Steve Poulten ()
Supervises the maintenance, improvement and repair of CBD and its property and implements policies and practices related to the use of the building for all Congregation functions and other activities that may be carried out in the Congregation's building.
□ Membership:Lesley Engelson ()
Develops initiatives to obtain and retain members. Conducts out-reach to prospective members, and coordinates new member Shabbat service and Shabbat dinner services. Receives, reviews and processes applications for membership in Congregation Beth David, and informs applicants concerning financial obligations and member privileges and responsibilities.
□ Publications & Communications: Beth Dworetzky ()
Creates and disseminates information about activities, events, volunteer opportunities, and more for the Congregation Beth David community and community at large. Do you have ideas for creating and formatting weekly e-newsletters, a quarterly newsletter, brochures, or for updating and maintaining the CBD website, and other materials? We want to hear them! Design a brochure, format a newsletter, write an article…You don’t have to do it all – contribute what you can when you can.
□ Program: Harris Chorney ()
In concert with other committee, the program committee develops, promotes, and coordinates educational activities and programs for the members of the Congregation and Jewish community at-large.
□ Religious School: Stephanie Malinow ()
Oversees the activities of the Hebrew School and provides input for school programs
□ Ritual:Gary Engelson ()
Supervises and executes plans for Shabbat services, high holidays days and festivals. Working with other committees develops enhancements to traditional Shabbat services, such as “Shabbat on the beach” service.
□ Tikun Olam: (Chairperson to be determined)
Identifies and coordinates participation in areas of community social action

There are other ways to volunteer if being a member of a committee is “not your cup of tea” – here’s how (please put a ✓ next to the activity you are willing to volunteer for)
□ Participate in a phone tree to make brief calls to remind our members of an upcoming event
□ Help in the kitchen during Shabbat and holiday services
□ Help to “stuff” envelopes
□ Deliver a challah, honey and apples to a new member
□ Offer a ride to Friday night services for someone who is unable to drive at night; helping to plan an event
□ Work registration for an event
