Position Purpose:

The Field Engineer / Project Manager will have experience in, civil infrastructure work, erosion control, traffic control, landscape, hardscape, reviewing and implementing plans and working with subcontractors.

Candidate will be responsible for the daily on-site direction of subcontractors, ECL crews, planning, delegating tasks and direction of production, along with completing accurate paper work.

The ideal candidate will work with subcontractors and ECL crews to ensure that assigned projects are completed in accordance with contracted scope of work, safety, quality, and the expectations of sales consultants, and clients; with-in budgeted time and in the most cost effective and efficient manner possible.

Goals:

  • Exceed fiscal construction goal.
  • Ability to interface and excel within established organization structure.
  • Identify and capture adjustments on project through change orders and agreements and schedules.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Track job costs to include labor, materials and subcontracted work.
  • Process field and design information to bring the job on or under budget.
  • Utilization of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and terminology.
  • Work with other employees to maintain and improve customer retention efforts.
  • Minimize the professional liability associated with the project.
  • Manage change order process for assigned construction projects.
  • Material procurement on time and on budget.
  • Lead teams, establish relationships, build trust and create strong sense of leadership among field crews.
  • Ability to understand bid packages.
  • Manage multi-disciplined projects and coordinating materials, equipment, and scheduling.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors on site and build repore with partners (subcontractors, clients, and ECL staff).

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a valid Georgia driver’s license, an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report, and be able to pass DOT physical and drug test. Ed Castro Landscape is an E-verify Employer providing a Drug Free work environment.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in government or commercial construction.
  • GSWCC erosion certification is a plus / Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
