JOB TITLE: Regulatory Affairs Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: Regulatory Affairs Lead, China
EXTERNAL: Governments, Academies, Universities, etc.
INTERNAL: RPSA, CE, GA etc.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop the regulatory strategy in China and to prepare the plan of the regulatory approvals. This is an essential responsibility for the position and should be included in day to day jobs.
2. Registrations of the Biotech Crops including preparing dossiers, getting the relevant approvals/permits, coordinating the conduction and monitoring of the field trials and the other studies, etc. This is the most important for this position.
3. Establishing the good working relationships to MOA regulatory authority and the Chinese scientists and maintaining the relationships to help on safety assessment, regulatory submissions and approvals and outreach.
4. Contribute efforts to FTO (freedom to operation) and the other outreach jobs.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
1. Excellent facility in English, both oral and written
2. Good network with the regulators and the scientists in China
3. MSc. or above in Biotechnology or Molecular, nice to have Agronomy, Biosafety and Biodiversity background.
4. Initiative & Foresight: taking the initiative to do what needs to be done without being asked; should be proactive.
5. Results Orientation: completing all assigned tasks on-time with minimal oversight; effectively prioritizing, planning and executing the work.
6. Good ability to interact with and communicate with government officials
7. Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts in ways which are easily understood
