About Meena …
Meena Tharmaratnam is the founder of Ibhana Creations, the culmination of three loves – design, textiles and people. Meena retails a collection of women’s apparel and accessories, offering outfits, dresses and separates for everyday, resort and cocktail wear. The collection is put together from world renowned designer lines from the US, Canada and India (Joseph Ribkoff, Cartise and Samuel Dong). Several designers in the line offer sizes 2 through 22 and washable, wrinkle free fabrics great for travel.
Accessories offered by Ibhana are:
· Cashmere, wool and silk shawls from India
· Hats for summer travel, Derby events, fascinators for dinner parties, and Sunday bonnets from Russia, Germany and the U.S.,
· Jewelry (metal, mesh, semi-precious stones from India, Amsterdam and the U.S.).
· Rainwear and travel bags.
Ibhana’s collections are available from a home showroom in Bethesda, trunk shows and charity fundraisers in the Washington metropolitan area, a monthlong boutique at the DC Design House in April/May, at holiday bazaars and fundraisers, including the World Bank’s MMMF International Bazaar in October and a kiosk in Bethesda and Rockville during the summer months.
A selection of Ibhana’s apparel and accessories will be available for purchase at Chartwell Country Club before and after the fashion show, and Ibhana will donate 20% of sales to help with our fundraising.
In addition to the Ibhana boutique, we will also have Scott Donnelly from EvenStar Jewelers, Charlotte Burnell of Charly’s in the Bag (a large variety of bags and purses), Eclectic Artisan jewelry designs by Nisey Mileski, and our own Janis Kramer for your shopping pleasure. Each of them is also contributing to our club from their proceeds, so please come ready to shop!
About our LIVE AUCTION item …
One of our members has generously donated for our live auction a 7-day, 6-night stay at her 6th floor condo in Panama City Beach, FL. The condo is a 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit with a king bed, two double beds and a queen-size sleeper sofa. All linens are provided.
