Hospice Volunteer, VITAS Hospice Organization, Watertown, CT. Responsibilities: Providing friendly bedside visits to dying patients and their families.

2006-2007:

Hospice Arts Volunteer, Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT. Responsibilities: Preserving the stories told by dying patients by creating audio recordings of these precious words for the families and friends of the patient to have after the patient had passed away. This was a program that I started at this hospice.

2002-2005:

Connecticut Chapter Coordinator, Pediatric Research in Office Settings.Responsibilities: PROS is a section of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I was the first PA to hold a chapter coordinator position in the history of the PROS network. My job was to educate and recruit practicing pediatricians in Connecticut regarding ongoing PROS studies.

2002-2004:

Lay Minister, Unitarian Society of New Haven, Hamden, CT.Responsibilities: Ministering to an elderly polio survivor in her last years of life.

2000-2001:

Member, Connecticut Governor’s Task Force on Asthma Control. Responsibilities: Attending meetings to evaluate the state of asthma treatment and control in the state of CT.

1999-2001:

Secretary, Connecticut Association of Physician Assistants. Responsibilities: As a member of the CONNAPA Board of Directors, my job was to attend all meetings, prepare the minutes from each meeting, and participate in discussions and decisions regarding the PA profession in the state of CT.
