Enhancement Overview

Car Delivery and Collection refers to specific customer instructions relating to where a car is to be delivered to the customer and from where a car is to be picked up by the car supplier.

This enhancement establishes a standardized process for supporting CarMaster Delivery and Collection through the use of new agent-input fixed fields, necessary for transmitting related information to car suppliers in the link sell transaction. The fixed field nature of the transmission will enable the car supplier to electronically validate and respond to the Delivery/Collection request. CarMaster Delivery and Collection supports the return of a Delivery/Collection fee, if applicable, in the car supplier segment sell response.

Requests for Delivery/Collection will not be supported in the availability (shopping) transaction. Delivery/Collection will be supported in the Type A link sell transaction and the Type B (Teletype) sell transaction only.

Agent-entered Delivery/Collection data and supplier-generated Delivery/Collection fees and Location Names associated with Site IDs will be stored in the Extended BAS portion of the PNR/BF.

Delivery/Collection address information will be printable on the customer itinerary.

The following new fields will be enabled for CarMaster sell/modify processing to support this enhancement.

Delivery and Collection data returned by car suppliers in their segment sell response will overlay the agent-entered data and will be stored in the PNR/BF.
