These4beautiful andextremely comfortablecabins are ournewestaccommodations.Builtinthespringof

Climbing Tower,LowandHighRopesCourses andChallengeCourse

TheNamanuClimbingTower, LowandHighRopes Courses andChallengecourseofferaunique groupactivity for your corporate,school, youth,college,athletic teamor non-profit grouptoengage andconnect. Thecourse canincreaseyour team’s communicationskills, break downboundaries,facilitateconflict resolutionand discover teamstrengths. Butmoreimportant,it is alotoffun. TheCourses are madeupofacollection ofcables,ropes, woodenbeams andplatforms thatformelementslocatedclose tothegroundor ashighas 50 feetinthe air. Eachelementcanbeintentionally framed asa problemor metaphor for yourgroup tosolve.

Duck PondBoating

As early as1924,boatswere plyingthewatersoftheCampNamanuDuckPond.A small streamis diverted near theeastern edgeofthe property,andwinds itsway throughthesiteuntil is burbles downpastthe stonework oftheNature Houseforms theDuckPond.Rental feeincludes smallrow boatstopaddleaboutthe pond.Lifejacketsareprovidedandalifeguardmustbeondutyat alltimes.Bringyournets! There is no agerestrictiononDuckPondBoating,butlifejacketsfor very smallchildrenmaynotbeavailable. Swimming Pool–open Mayto September

Camp Namanu UseAgreementandLiabilityWaiver

Thisagreementis madebyandbetweenCampFireColumbia,a nonprofitcorporation(“CampFire”)whoseaddressis

1411 SW Morrison St #300, Portland, OR 97205 andwhosetelephonenumberis 503-224-7800andtheRentalApplicantGroup/Organization“Group”.

RentalFeeandPayments:The Group agreestopayallRentalFees,depositsandbalancesinaccordancewith allCamp NamanuRentalPoliciesandPayments.

OregonAdministrativeRules. The Groupagreesto beincompliancewith the Oregon AdministrativeRules,Chapter333, OrganizationalCamps,withregardtofoodservice,emergencyproceduresandfirstaid. AcopyoftheOARmaybe obtainedfromtheOregonStateArchives. CopiesarealsoonfileattheCampFireofficeandwiththeCampNamanu PropertyManageronsite.

CampRules.TheGroupagreestocomplywithallCampNamanuSiteUseRules(“Rules”)andshallcauseallpersons withtheGroup’spermissionorbyinvitationfrom theGrouporanyGroupmember(collectively“PermissiveUsers”)to complywiththeRules.TheRuleshavebeenorshallbeprovidedto theGrouponorbeforetheGroupLeader’sarrivalat theCampFacilitiesandare incorporatedherein.TheGroupanditsmembersshallberesponsibleforanynoncompliance withtheRulesbytheGroup,itsmembers,or PermissiveUsers.Failuretocomplywiththerulesmayresultinan immediateterminationof theGroup’srighttousetheFacilities;anyandallfeespaidarenon-refundableupon anysuchtermination.

TheGroupagreestoassembleitsmembersandallPermissiveUsersforabrieforientationsessiontobe conductedby theOn-SiteRentalCoordinator(s)(“OSRC”)oncampproceduresandtheRules;providedthatanyfailurebyCampFireor theOSRCto providesuchorientationsessionsshallnotrelievetheGroupanditsmembersfromtheirobligationsunder thisagreement.

CampCondition.TheGroupshallwalkthroughtheFacilitieswiththeOSRCuponarrivalatanddeparturefrom the FacilitiestochecktheconditionandcleanlinessoftheFacilitiestobeusedbytheGroup.TheGroupagreestoleavethe FacilitiesinthesameconditionfoundatarrivalandtoreimburseCampFireforallcostsofrepairorcleaningof the Facilitiesasaresultof the Group’suseof theFacilities.Cleaningcostsforunfinishedcleaningwillbebilledat$50per hour.Groupagreestocleananyandallfacilitiesusedbythegroup,includingandnot limitedtogroupactivitybuildings, lodges/cabins,bathroomsandcommonareas.

Insurance.TheGroupagreestoprovideacertificatefrom aninsurancecarrierin formandsubstanceandfrom acarrier reasonablyacceptabletoCampFire 30dayspriorto theGroupArrivalDatestatedontheGroupRentalApplication statingthattheGroupisinsuredunderacomprehensivegeneralliabilitypolicywithlimitsofnotlessthan$2,000,000. CampFiremustbenamedasanadditionalinsuredonsuchpolicyof insurance.Inadditionacopyof theendorsement shallbeprovided.Receiptof theforegoingis aconditiontotheGroup’suseof theFacilities. Non-compliancewill immediatelyvoidrentalapplicationandforfeitanydepositfundspaid.

AssumptionofRisk,IndemnificationandHoldHarmless,Waiver,Release.

TheGroup,eachGroupMember,andeachPermissiveUserassumesallrisksofloss,damage,orinjuryto personsorpropertywhichariseoutoftheGroup’s,eachGroupMember’s,oreachPermissiveUser’suseofCampNamanuandtheFacilities(including,withoutlimitation,equipment)andagreestoindemnifyandhold harmlessCampFireanditsofficers,employees,directors,representatives, andagents(collectively “Indemnities”) fromandagainstanyandalljudgments,losses,expenses,liabilities,damages,claims,liensand expenses,includingbutnotlimitedtoattorney’sfees(attrial,onappeal,andotherwise)whichindemnitiesmaysuffer,incur,orsustain,asaresultoforarisingfromorconnectedwithanyoperations,activities,oruseofCampNamanuandthefacilitiesandequipmentbytheGroup,eachGroupMember,eachPermissive User,and anyoftheGroup’sofficers,directors,employees,agents,andsubcontractors, oranyotherrepresentatives (collectively“Claims”).TheGroup, eachGroupMember,eachPermissiveUser,andeachoftheGroup’sofficers, directors,employees,agents,subcontractors,andotherrepresentativesherebywaiveanyandallknownand unknown ClaimsithasormayhaveagainstCampFireandherebyreleasesCampFirefromanyandall judgments,losses,expenses,liabilities,damages,claims,liens,andexpenseswhichCampFiremaysuffer, incur,orsustain,asaresultoforarisingfromorconnected withanyoperations oractivities,orusebyuserof CampNamanuandthefacilitiesandequipmentbytheGroup,eachGroupMember,eachPermissive User,and anyoftheGroup’sofficers,directors,employees,agents,subcontractors,or otherrepresentatives.

Sponsor’s Responsibility.

The groupagreesthatitisresponsibleforallpersonsusingthe Facilitiesunderthis agreement(including,withoutlimitation,PermissiveUsers)andforthebreachof anyprovisionof thisagreement.

AttorneyFees. Inanyarbitrationorlitigationconcerningorarisingoutofthisagreement,theprevailingpartyshallbe entitledtorecoverallexpensesofarbitrationorlitigationincluding,withoutlimitation,reasonableattorney feesat arbitration,attrial, onanyappealorpetitionforreview. Inaddition,CampFireisentitledtorecoveranyattorney’sfeesor costsincurredinconnectionwithcollectinganyamountsowedbytheGrouphereunderwhetherornotlitigationis initiated.

Camp Namanu Site Rules

ThefollowingrulesapplytoallusersofCampNamanuandtherecreationfacilities.Failuretocomplywiththeruleswill resultinterminationofyourCampNamanuRental.

HealthandSafety

CampNamanurequiresmedicalsupervisionforeachGrouponsite.EachGroupagreestofurnishaqualifiedadultto providebasichealth supervision.Aqualifiedadultisatleast21yearsofageandpossessesataminimumacertificateof training intheprinciplesoffirstaidandCPR from a nationally recognized provider.Groupmust bring itsown firstaid suppliesandequipmentandstore themin anappropriatefashion.

a.GroupMemberList:TheGroupLeaderisadvisedtobringandhaveavailableatalltimesacurrentlistofgroup membersthatincludes:namesandaddresses,emergency contactinformation,anyknownallergies/special needs/restrictions,and (for minorsunder theageof18whoseparentsarenotaccompanyingthematCampNamanu) asignedPermissionto Treatform (samplecanbeobtainedfrom theCampFireOffice).

b. AdultStaffandVolunteers:BackgroundGroupsareadvisedtocompletebackgroundchecksonalladultsworking withminorsonthesite,including aNationalSexOffenderPublicRegistry( of avoluntary disclosurestatement(samplecanbeobtainedfromtheCampFireOffice),referencechecks,anda personalinterviewaswellascomprehensivehiringpoliciesforstaffandvolunteers.

d.IncidentReports:GroupagreestoreportanyincidentsofinjurytotheDirectorofFacilitiesandPrograms,ResidentCampDirector,orPropertyManager.

e.GroupOrientation:ThegroupwillbeprovidedwithanorientationtoCampNamanuwithin1hourofarrivalbya memberofthecampstaffinwhichbasicrulesandproceduresforcampwillbeprovided,alongwithemergency procedures.

f.YouthSupervision:Groupsshallutilizethebuddysystemforallyouthparticipants. Youthwillnotbeunsupervisedat anytimeandthegroupisresponsible forgroupmembersupervisionandadherencetotheSiteRules.Groupsare advisedtosuperviseminorswithstaff/volunteersthatareat least18yearsofage. There should always be at least two adults (18+) during aquatic, challenge course, climbing tower, or outdoor cooking activities. Rental groups must follow proper ratios of adults to children while conducting activities: for every six children that are 5 years old or younger there must be 1 adult (1:5), children that are 6-8 years old require a ratio of 1:8, children ages 9-14 must have a ratio of staff that is 1:10, and children the ages of 15-18 require a ratio of 1:12.

g. SmokingatCampNamanuisProhibitedandCampFireHazard:TheGroupwillprohibitsmokinganywhereonsite andshallwarnallpersonsofthehazardsofindiscriminatesmoking.Openfiresmaybebuiltonlyinestablished campfirerings.Allcampfireswill haveavailableandimmediate ameansofextinguish.Minimally,there isafull bucketof waterandashovelisrequired.Indooruseofliquidfirestarterandorcandlewaxisprohibited. Firesinopen fireplaces musthavescreensinplaceatalltimes.Doorstowoodstoves mustremainintheclosedposition.Nofire maybeleftunattended.ItisunderstoodthatbothCampNamanuandtheGroupwillcomplywithalllawfulorders issuedbyappropriatefirecontrolofficials.

h.Alcohol on site is permitted under OLCC regulations. All servers must have a current OLCC permit and documentation must be provided to site staff on day of event. Group must assume all liability related to serving alcohol and must have event insurance that covers alcohol in its terms. The party must provide the site staff with a schedule of when alcohol is being served and when service is ending. Guests cannot bring their own alcohol to site.

i. VehicleTraffic:Useofvehiclesisrestrictedtoroadsandparkingareasdesignated bytheProperty Manager.Allfire lanesmustbeclearatalltimes.Posted speedlimitsshall beobeyed.Posted camproadspeedlimitis15milesper hour,and5milesperhouronanyroadincamp.The5mileperhourspeedlimitbeginswhenyouseethefirst building.CampRoadisverynarrow;bewareofwalkersandvehiclestraveling intheopposite direction. Bealertand drive slowly. Allvehiclesmust beparkedintheupperparkinglotatthetopoftheGrand Staircasewiththeexception of the3- 5 vehiclesthathavebeenidentifiedforparkinginthelowercamparea.Vehicleparkingislimitedto 110.

j.Thepossessionandoruseoffireworks,firearms,ammunition,explosivesandotherweaponsareprohibited.Theuse of gasoline,flammables,poisonoussubstances,andhandandpowertoolsarealsoprohibited.

k.Thepossessionand/orconsumptionof alcohol, marijuana (recreational or medicinal)orthe use ofillegalsubstancesareprohibited

l.Shoes and socks must be worn at all times except when showering and swimming.

m.Petsandanimalsareprohibitedexceptforthosetrainedandendorsedasserviceanimalsforpersonswithdisabilities. PleasehavetheserviceanimalownercheckinwiththeDirectorofFacilitiesandPrograms,PropertyManager,or ResidentCampDirectorpriorto,orsoonafter,arrivalatNamanu.

ProgramandUseof Premises

a.During theRental term,Group shalluseCampNamanuforconductingaprogramofitsowndesignandshallcomply withallapplicablelaws,codesandregulations.RentalApplication GroupLeadershallnotify theDirectorofFacilities andProgramsthenatureoftheGroup’sprogram,andshallpromptlysupplyanyadditionalrequestedinformation abouttheprogramtotheDirectorof Facilitiesand Programs,PropertyManager,orResidentCampDirector.

b.Only registered Group Permissive Users are permitted on Camp Namanu property. No unregisteredGroupPermissiveUsersareallowedonCampNamanupropertywithoutCampFire’spriorwrittenconsent. Any unauthorized person on the premises should be reported to Site Staff immediately.

c.Foodis allowedonlyin designatedeatingareasandoutdoors.

d.PermissiveUsersmaynotexceedthemaximumnumberofpeopleperfacilityoractivityasstatedintheCamp NamanuRentalApplication.

e.Livingandprogramareas,otherthanthosewhichtheGroupisauthorized touse,areofflimits.Pleaserespectthe privacyandpropertyof sitestaff,otherGroupsandCampFire.

f.AllprogramsconductedbytheGroupshallcomplywithsafetyandsupervisionstandardsasspecifiedbythe AmericanCampAssociation. Ifspecializedprogramactivityareasorequipmentareused,CampNamanuwilleither provideappropriatelytrainedstafforwilldetermineminimumqualificationsforsaid supervisionbythe Group. Groups providingtheirown leadershipinthisarea maydosowith theapprovalofCampNamanustaffandarerecommendto havequalifiedindividualsleadingspecializedactivities.TheGroupisadvisedtoverifytheskillsoftheleaderforeach specializedactivity.

g.TheGroupshallprovideallof itsownprogramequipmentandmaterials,whichwillbestoredsafelyandappropriately.

h.TheSwimmingpoolandDuckPondislimitedtoauthorizedandsupervisedevents.Availabilityofthepoolorduckpond isatthediscretionoftheDirectorofFacilitiesand Programs,ResidentCampDirector,orPropertyManager.No oneshallenterthepoolorduckpondareaunlessaqualifiedlifeguard (s)is/areinthepoolorduckpondarea. The minimumqualificationsforsaidlifeguard(s)willbeaLifeguardCertificatefromtheAmericanRedCross. Additionally, onepersonmustbepresentholdingcertificationinFirstAidandCPRatallaquaticactivities.Lifeguardswillbe providedinaratioof1toevery25personsinthepoolorduckpondarea. Inaddition,theGroupwillprovideadult lookoutsinaratioof1toevery10swimmers/boatersinthepoolorduckpond. GroupsmustusePFDs(Personal FlotationDevices)attheduckpond. Groups providingtheirownlifeguardareadvisedtoverifytheskillsoftheguard toensurethatbestpracticesarefollowed.Informationonhowtodo thiscanbeprovidedbyCampNamanustaff.

i.Campwillbeleftcleanandfreeoflitterandmicro-trash.Allgarbageshallberemovedandplacedintheidentified garbagecansanddumpsters. Allrentalfacilitieswillbesweptunlessdirectedotherwise.Kitchenandbathroom facilitiesusedbythegroupwillbecleanedaccordingtoposteddirections

j.All used lodge kitchens must be cleaned thoroughly. The food contact surfaces must be sanitized, floors swept and mopped, and sink cleaned out. Refrigerators need to be emptied of remaining food and the daily temperature chart must be filled out accordingly. If the temperature of a refrigerator is not maintaining a safe temperature, report it to staff immediately. If guests use the mechanical dish washer, they must record the temperature on the chart daily. Temperatures in the mechanical dishwasher should be at least 100°F for the wash and 180°F for the rinse . If guests hand wash dishes, they must wash (with soap) and rinse at a temperature of 100°F, do a second rinse with sanitizer, air dry the dishes and return them to the cupboard

k.To ensure food safety, every person working in the kitchen must have a valid Oregon Food Handlers Card. They are also required to use only clean and sanitized utensils and equipment during food preparation, they must clean and sanitize all food preparation surfaces, and ensure that food does remains within safe temperatures (40°F-140°f)

l.Parkingislimitedtodesignatedparkingareasonly.Amaximumof110vehiclesareallowedonsiteat anytime.

m.Cancellations mustbereceivedinwriting..

  • 50%ofdeposit is forfeitedifcancelled90days or moreprior to rental arrival date
  • 100%deposit isforfeitedif cancelledwithin30to90days of rental arrival date
  • Reservationscancelledwithin 30daysofrentalarrival datereceivenorefund.

IcertifythatIhavereadCampNamanuUseAgreementWaiverandincorporatedCamp Namanu Site Use Rules andassumefullresponsibility fortheGroup,eachGroupMember,andthePermissiveUsersadherencetothe termsofthisagreement. IfurthercertifythatIamdulyauthorizedtoexecutethisagreementonbehalfofthe Group.
