CALL FOR CAMPERS: Midwest B.A.S.I.C. Youth Bible Camp is July 24-28, 2017 at Pine Lake Christian Camp in Eldora, Iowa. All graduates of grades 6-12 are encouraged to attend. Hope Haven’s 22nd Annual Gospel Music Festival will be held at Central Park in Sioux Center, IA on Friday and Saturday, June 16 and 17. The Gospel Music Festival will provide great continuous music from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM on Friday and from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM on Saturday. Currently 20 different groups from five states are scheduled to sing! The Gospel Music Festival is a benefit for Hope Haven and freewill offerings will be taken each day. A lunch stand will be open both days. In case of inclement weather, the Music Festival will be held at the Rec Center on the campus of Dordt College.

Pastor’s Vacation– Pastor Bill and Marge hope to take a week of vacation following Synod. They anticipate vacationing in Michigan from Thursday, noon, June 15 through Tuesday evening, June 20.

The Evangelism Committee would like to invite the congregation to serve at the Banquet June 30 with the Sibley Christian Reformed Church. The sign-up sheet is in the back of church on the bulletin counter. We may need some of you to go at 2:00 PM to help with the set up. Please contact Larry Post if you have any questions.

Guest Pastors– We welcome to our morning and evening times of worship today Mr. Greg Steggerda. Mr. Steggerda is a lay preacher with licensure to exhort within Classis of the Heartland of which we are a part. He has led our times of worship several times in the past. Next Sunday, June 18, while Pastor Bill and Marge are on vacation, Rev. Stan Vandersall from Orange City will be leading our Morning Service of Worship. Pastor Stan Vandersall is a minister in the Reformed Church in America. He lives in Orange City, Iowa.

In our evening service of worship next Sunday, June 18, 2017 we will be welcoming Rev. Ron Lammers, our associate pastor, to lead us in worship. Rev. Lammers is an ordained minister emeritus in the Christian Reformed Church who is currently serving the Asian-American Church in Bigelow, Minnesota.

Registration for the 1st annual Western Christian Tractor Ride begins Saturday, July 1 at 8 AM at Western Christian in the North Parking lot. The ride will begin at 8:30 AM, start in Hull, go to Rock Valley, head for Inwood for a burger fry, travel to Alvord, and then back to Hull. Your registration fee of $30 for one person includes the ride, snack at break time, noon meal, and a Tractor Ride cap. Sing a New Song! In our service of worship This Morning we return to our practice of occasionally learning a new song in worship. Over the next several weeks when we have a worship team assisting us in worship we will be learning the song Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness from Lift up Your Hearts 238. This morning the worship team will introduce us to this new hymn as we begin the process of learning it. Please feel free to listen to the singing of this hymn for a verse or two before joining in when and as you are comfortable in the learning process.

Pastor to Synod - Pastor Bill has been selected to represent Classis of the Heartland at the Synod of the Christian Reformed Church. Synod 2017 will convene Friday, June 9, at 8:30 am through Thursday, June 15, at noon. This year’s Synod will take place on the campus of Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Men are needed to help with campsite preparation for the Cadet International Camporee in the Black Hills area. We will be going onJune 2 & 3 and June 23 & 24.Please contact Corwin Runia if you interested.

Worthington Christian School is seeking to fill two part-time positions beginning in the 2017-2018 academic year: 1) A Music Instructor for both vocal (K-8) and instrumental (5th-8th) music instruction. Hours will be 12-15/week. 2) A Middle School Instructor with an emphasis in Mathematics. Hours will be approximately 10/week (1-2 hours of daily instruction). A MN Elementary or Middle School teaching certification is preferred for Music instruction, but required for the Math position.
