Announcement(s): Fred Neeley, Executive Director of 49er Shops is celebrating his retirement. He worked closely with FACT on the iClicker and Textbook Requisitions issues. Dr. Gerry Hanley, CSU Senior Director of Academic Technology and MERLOT, will meet with FACT at our May 11th meeting to discuss CSU-wide testing centers.

Continuing and Business:

·  ACTION ITEM: Academic Senate Retreat on Technology issues and response. FACT members generated and prioritized a list a list of technology tips to appear on the Provost’s message and/or DAF message from Mary Stephen’s Office. AVP of ITS Janet Foster took the list to create a knowledge base website to deliver the content.

Updates and Reports:

·  BeachBoard update: Dir, ITSS, Leslie Kennedy reported that BeachBoard D2L will undergo an update in July 2012 when very few courses are offered in order to not disrupt instruction. Two new tools for instruction are being piloted the first is lecture capture software that is integrated into the BeachBoard system; the second, is online course evaluations.

·  ATS/ITS update: Interim AVP ATS, Roman Kochan and AVP ITS, Janet Foster reported that 80% of the email migration is successfully completed. The balance of the migration will be Facilities (PPFM), Continuing Education (CCPE), and Volunteers and Emeriti faculty members. The old Webmail system will be closed out. AVP Foster also announced that the Campus Legal Guidelines, that FACT reviewed, are now published on the University Website: http://daftest.csulb.edu/offices/its/publication/email-service-usage/campus-email-service-usage.html
