MIRACOSTA COLLEGE
CAL GRANT GPA VERIFICATION
(For March 2, 2016 filing deadline)
Please read each student GPA category below and determine which category best describes your situation. Note: only students with a valid SSN are eligible to apply for Cal Grant. DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) SSN’s do not qualify.
1. Have you completed 24 or more degree-applicable units at MiraCosta College?
If Yes:
STOP. You do not need to submit a Cal Grant GPA Verification Form. We will automatically submit your GPA electronically to the state. You do not need to do anything except submit your 2016-17 FAFSA by March 2nd.
If No:
Skip to #2.
2. Have you completed at least 16 but less than 24 degree-applicable units at MiraCosta College, and have not attended any other college or university?
If Yes:
STOP. You do not need to submit a Cal Grant GPA Verification Form. We will automatically submit your GPA electronically to the state. You do not need to do anything except submit your 2016-17 FAFSA by March 2nd.
If No:
A.)If you have at least 16 units but less than 24 units at MiraCosta and you have completed units from another college or university, Skip to #4.
B.) If you have completed less than 16 units at MiraCosta, Skip to #3.
3. Have you completed less than 16 degree-applicable units and have not attended any other college or university?
If Yes:
STOP. You must submit the GPA form to your high school for verification and submit your 2016-17 FAFSA by March 2nd.
If No:
You have less than 16 units at MiraCosta and you have completed units from another college or university, Skip to #4.
4. If you need to include other college coursework to meet the minimum 24 degree-applicable units (or 16 units for a Re-established GPA), complete the information below and the Cal Grant GPA Form. Submit both forms to the Admissions and Records Office. Processing time is five (5) working days. You will receive an email once your form has been processed. You must pick up your form no later than March 2, 2016. The filing postmark deadline is March 2, 2016. It is the student’s responsibility to mail the form to the California Student Aid Commission.
