CADETS CARING FOR CANADA 2003

1.  SITUATION

2137 RCACC will participate in Cadets Caring for Canada 11 Oct 03.

2.  MISSION

2137 RCACC will conduct Cadets Caring for Canada, a cleanup of the brush surrounding the Lions club Cremona youth camp 11 Oct 03.

3.  EXECUTION

a. General Outline. Will be conducted in three phases:

(1) Phase One: All will arrive at Mewata, stores will be gathered, equipment and personnel will be loaded onto vehicles, move to training area.

(2) Phase Two: Conduct Cleanup.

(3) Phase Three: Load stores and personnel onto vehicles, move to Mewata Armouries, unload stores, cleanup, dismissal.

- Ensure all vehicle drivers are aware of RVs and travel as a

-  Ensure all stores IAW Annex B are serviceable

-  Organize stores, ensure all stores are loaded onto vehicles

- Ensure all stores are secure in the field

-  Ensure all medical notification forms are complete and available (Book of Life)

-  Retain all cadet Medications

4.  COORDINATING INSTRUCTIONS

a)  Timings: IAW Annex A

b)  Routes: IAW Annex C

i)  Mewata to training area – Hwy 2 North to Acme turnoff, go west to Hwy 2A; Hwy 2A North to Hwy 580; Hwy 580 West 21.1 km, North 3.2 km, East 1.7 km, South 1.5 km; East 0.5 km. Route is signed from Hwy 580 to site.

ii)  Training area to Mewata – Reverse of above

c) RVs:

i) Mewata Armoury

ii) Youth Camp Site

5.  SERVICE AND SUPPORT

a)  Feeding and Rations. Lunch will be the only meal and will consist of fresh rations.

b)  Transportation.

§  Cadets to be transported via two 48-passenger busses.

§  All personal and group equipment will be transported in a pick-up truck.

§  An emergency vehicle will be located at the HQ for the duration of the FTX.

c)  Stores. IAW Annex B.

d)  Medical. Any medical conditions will be brought to the attention of the First Aid Officer.

e)  Dress. All CIC officers will wear combat clothing. Civilian Instructors and cadets may wear approved combat clothing with CI or Cadet identifier, or civilian clothing IAW Annex B.

f)  POL. All POL will be located in designated area.

g)  Smoking. No smoking is permitted for the duration of the training exercise.

h)  Emergency procedure. In case of medical emergency, person(s) will be transported to Hospital via emergency vehicles or local EMS, emergency contacts will be notified.
