COURSE CONTENT

Students apply technical skills to address business applications of emerging technologies. Students enhance reading, writing, computing, communication, and reasoning skills and apply them to the business environment. Students will need to apply touch system data entry for production of business documents.

SUPPLIES

Blue or Black Pens and No. 2 Pencils

1 Ream of White Computer Paper

1 Jump Drive (minimum 1GB)

1 box of tissues or 1 bottle of hand sanitizer

Classroom Instruction

Students will access the daily agenda and assignments through Edmodo. Parents can access Edmodo with a special code provided by Mrs. Wall. Any parent that is interested in accessing their student’s Edmodo account may contact me through email or phone for further instruction. Students are encouraged to utilize Edmodo from home. If a student is absent for any reason, missing assignments maybe uploaded to Edmodo.

ABSENCES AND MAKE-UP WORK
If a student is absent, he or she must get make-up work BEFORE or AFTER school. It is up to the student to ask about make up work or missing assignments. Make up work can be accessed through Edmodo. When a student misses class time, he or she must make up their work after school during tutoring, or by appointment. Also note: If a student is absent the day an assignment is due, the student must turn in the assignment when he or she returns to class to receive full credit.

RESTROOM BREAKS

There is no restroom break the first 10 minutes, or the last 10 minutes, of the class period. Only one student is allowed at the restroom a time and with a pass.

BASIC CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

Entry/Exit Routines

·  Come in quietly.

·  Be in the room before the tardy bell rings

·  Before the student leaves the classroom please push in your chair and put away your materials.

·  The teacher will dismiss the class when the bell rings.

Classroom Expectations

·  Sit in assigned seat

·  Check the board or screen for instructions, be ready to work, and have needed supplies ready

·  Login to your assigned computer

·  Begin Journal/ Discussion/Assignment

·  Students may not leave the classroom the first 10 minutes, or the last 10 minutes, of the class period.

·  Follow the Rules and Procedures that are expected in the classroom

10. Do not use obscene, abusive, or disrespectful language in any computer document/project.

PLAGIARISM AND CHEATING
Plagiarism and cheating will not be tolerated. If a student is caught plagiarizing or cheating, the student will receive a zero for the assignment. All major and minor papers will be scanned for plagiarizing. Discipline referrals will also be given to students that are caught cheating or plagiarizing.

GRADING POLICY

The grading scale: All assignments are equally weighted

This grading scale makes every assignment important to your average!!

HEADING

Each assignment you turn in is required to have the proper MLA heading. Points will be deducted for an incorrect heading. The heading for your papers is as follows and belongs at the top of the paper on the left hand side:

PROPER HEADING FOR ALL PAPERS THAT WILL BE TURNED IN SHOULD BE IN MLA FORMAT

CELL PHONES

Cell Phones will only be used in class on the days that the teacher requires Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). During classroom instruction cell phones should not be used for texting, social media, checking email, or making phone calls.
