Tournament Conditions

1. The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the Tennis Australia Rules and

Regulations and Code of Behaviour. Tennis Australia may penalise or suspend players for a

breach of the Code of Behaviour

2 .In the case of any dispute, the decision of the Referee or Deputy Referee will be final. In the

absence of a Referee the Tournament Chairman or their nominated Deputy shall have the

authority to settle such disputes.

3. Every competitor must complete an entry form.

4. Entries should be made on an official entry form and lodged with the Tournament Chairman

by the nominated closing date. No phone or late entries will be accepted.

5. Irrespective of weather conditions, players must report to play 20 minutes prior to the

scheduled match time. Players reporting in late will be disqualified.

6. The committee reserves the right to change the length of matches and times in order to

complete the Tournament.

7. All competitors must be dressed in correct tennis attire.

8. The draw will be made available on the club website (tennis.com.au/trevallyntc) the week prior to

the event and will be e-mailed out to all competitors

9. Competitors may be required to umpire a match during the tournament.

10 No refund of entries will be permitted.

11. Play shall be continuous unless a break has been authorised by the Tournament

Referee.

12 No one may advise a competitor during a match.

13 ITN ratings will be used to determine divisions in events where necessary. (See Table below)

14 Players will be able to enter either ITN singles events or open singles events- not both!

ITN Event Categories

Please note: We will be offering combined ITN 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 categories only for this event. The Open event is separate to the ITN but players may only enter either ITN or the open events, not both

ITN / Old Terminology / ITN Description of Standard
5 / Grade B / This player has dependable strokes including directional
control and depth on both ground strokes and on moderate shots
Has the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys
with some success
6 / Grade C / This player exhibits more aggressive net play, has improved court
18 and under / coverage, improved shot control and is developing teamwork in
doubles
7 / 14 & Under / This player is fairly consistent when hitting medium paced
shots but is not yet comfortable with all strokes. Lacks control
over depth, direction and power.
8 / 12 & Under / This player is learning to judge where the ball is going and can
sustain a short rally of slow pace.
9 / N/A / This player needs on court experience. Familiar with basic
positions in singles and doubles play.
10 / N/A / This player is just starting to play tennis and is working primarily
on getting the ball into play.

Prizes: ITN and Parent/Child Sibling Doubles events winners and runners up will receive trophies and merchandise.

Open winners will receive $150 for singles and $75.00 each in doubles

Open runners up will receive $75 for singles and $50.00 each for doubles

Note: Prizes may be altered due to the size of the draw
