NOTES:
1. Refer to Advice Note 18 to determine whether the work is notifiable.
2. An electrical installation will comply with the building regulations if it adheres to the ‘Fundamental principles’ for achieving safety given in BS 7671:2008 (incorporating amendment No. 1 2011) This means:
a) That it is adequately designed, installed, inspected and tested, and that,
b) Sufficient information is provided to ensure its safe operation, maintenance and any future alteration.
3. Building Control will not certify compliance with BS7671: 2001. A way of demonstrating compliance with BS7671: 2008 would be to have the work installed and tested by a person qualified and competent to do so.
4. It is not necessary to complete this notification if the electrical work is part of other work that is being carried out under Full Plans or a Building Notice or is being is being carried out under a 'Competent Persons Scheme'. In the case of doubt please contact us.
