Directions to Buckland Farm:

The residence of David Blake at Buckland Farm is located at 8230 Buckland Mill Rd, Gainesville, VA 20155 but the entrance from Buckland Mill Road is not conducive to horse trailers and its use is prohibited by the event permit. We also do not want those arriving to go by Mr. Blake's residence to get to registration and parking. So although a GPS for that address might get you close, please use 6342 Pleasant Colony Lane, Warrenton, VA, Warrenton, VA and/or please follow the directions listed and come in from US 29/Lee Hwy to South on Vint Hill Road (Route 215) as required by the permit issued by the county authorities. The intersection of Buckland Mill Road and Route 29 is uncontrolled and dangerous for entry or exit and the intersection of Vint Hill Road and Route 29 has a traffic light and turn lanes.

For GPS, Mapquest or other program: Try using 6500 Vint Hill Road, Warrenton, VA 20187 to give you an approximation of the location of the Pleasant Colony Lane entrance into the farm that leads to the registration location or 6342 Pleasant Colony Lane, Warrenton, VA will take you even closer.

From the North via I-495 & I-66 West: From I-66 take the Exit 43 at Gainesville, then turn South on Lee Highway/US 29 and proceed 5.2 miles to a traffic light and Turn Left unto Vint Hill Road (Route 215).

From the West via I-81: From I-81 take Exit 300 onto I-66 East toward Front Royal/Washington, continue for 40 miles to Exit 40, Haymarket and Turn Right onto James Madison Hwy/US 15 South; continue South on US 15 for 2.2 miles and Turn Right unto Lee Highway/US 29/US 15 South toward Warrenton; continue for 1 mile to a traffic light and Turn Left unto Vint Hill Road (Route 215).

From the South: From Warrenton: North on Lee Highway/US 29/US15, from the first traffic light from the By-pass (cross street is Comfort Inn Drive-Denny's is on your right) proceed 6.0 miles to a traffic light and Turn Right unto Vint Hill Road (Route 215).

All-From Vint Hill Road (Route 215):

After the turn onto Vint Hill Road (Route 215) from US 29/Lee Highway, continue approximately one mile (1.0 mile) to a Left Turn unto a paved Pleasant Colony Lane (the paved main entrance to Buckland Farm (approximately “38.763608, -77.680441”, go past a few turns and driveways until you come to a T where you turn to the right (there should be signs directing you). Go slow, there should be black (CAV) signs; a yellow “CAVALRY” sign; and/or a “Registration” sign indicating the route into camping. The Cavalry/Artillery camp is next to the Lake Buckland at approximately .

After clearing Registration, you will be directed to go where you will unload, set up camp, and park your rig/vehicle.
