ACTIVITIES: Logan is the Director of Penn State’s H2E (Hydrogen Energy) Center. The purpose of this center is to provide a focal point at the Penn State campus for environmentally related research concerning hydrogen-and fuel cell-based technologies. These include hydrogen generation and storage technologies, fuel cell research and the development and testing of hydrogen vehicles, and technologies based on hydrogen for environmental purposes, such as using hydrogen reactors for accomplishing perchlorate biodegradation. Penn State is home to one of the few Hydrogen Refueling Stations being demonstrated around the nation, and powers several cars, vans and a bus using the station. Logan is also director of the Engineering Environmental Institute (EEI), which is part of the Penn State Institutes of the Environment (PSIE). The EEI coordinates activities within the college in the environmental area, and across the university through PSIE.
