BRIAN AIKEN AWARD

Call for Nominations

The Brian Aiken Award of Excellence will be awarded to an IIA Ottawa Chapter member who hasdemonstrated outstanding and exceptional service to the profession of internal auditing in Ottawa, including developments in the field of internal auditing as well as participation in the activities of the IIA.

The IIAOttawa Chapter is requesting nominations for its inaugural award. The Brian Aiken Award of Excellence recognizes individuals who have contributed outstanding achievements in the field of internal auditing in Ottawa, with consideration of other significant IIA achievements, whether Global, Canadian or local.

The award recipient will be recognized and presented with theawardduring the IIA Ottawa Chapter’s Annual General Meeting on May 28, 2015 at the Sheraton Hotel, Ottawa.

You are encouraged to carefully consider the criteria for the award and to recommend worthy candidates for the honour. Nominations should be as complete as possible and must be submitted on the official Award Nomination Form. Multiple nominations for the same candidate from different members are allowed, but each must be submitted separately. Nominations are reviewed and judged by the IIA Ottawa Chapter’sNominating Committee.

Brian Aiken Award of Excellence Criteria

The IIA Ottawa Chapter established this award in 2013to recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding and exceptional service to the profession of internal auditing in Ottawa, including developments in the field of internal auditing as well as participation in the activities of the IIA. This award will bepresented annually.

Onlymembers of the IIA Ottawa Chapter are eligible to receive the award. Members of the Nominating Committeeshall not be eligible to receive the award.

Nominations will primarily be judged based on the member’s service to IIAOttawa,but will also consider involvement atthe Canadian and Global levels, particularly in one or moreof the areas followed:

Contribution to the expertise and value of the internal audit profession through thought leadership and innovation

Advocating for the professionalization of internal audit, including promoting professional certification

Contribution to knowledge-sharing, connection and engagement on internal audit matters of local importance

Promotion of the value of internal audit in Ottawa

Potential contribution to the IIA Ottawa Chapter

Potential contribution to the IIA’sCanadian and/or Global organizations

With the intent to recognize truly distinguished service by IIAOttawa members, no more than one award will be granted in a single year.

The deadline for receipt of nominations is May 8, 2015.
