Tesco and the Crown Hotel
Well the “Will they/won’t they?” saga rolls on as Tesco have appealed against the decision to refuse a Certificate of Lawful Use which would allow them to turn the Crown Hotel into a Tesco store. A Public Inquiry will now be held late spring or early summer to hear evidence from both sides. Let’s hope the Inspector will agree with local feeling and Leeds City Council by not allowing them to turn our only hotel left in the village into a Tesco store.
“The pledge wall” thousands of signatures from locals opposed to Tesco taking over The Crown Hotel.
Have you heard about Dalesbus ?
The Dalesbus Service is a not-for-profit organisation which manages a Sunday and Bank Holiday network. The 823/5 service runs every Sunday in summer and once a month in winter from York, through Boston Spa and other locations to Middlesmoor. Due to cuts in funding they are seeking contributions to help save this community bus service. Boston Spa Parish Council has agreed to a donation of £250.00 to help keep this service running. For more information on this service visit http://www.dalesbus.org/
Youth Club at Deepdale
A youth club is run every Tuesday, 6.30-8.30pm and every Friday 7-9pm, by Leeds Youth Services. The youth club is open to people aged 11 – 18 years. They offer a range of activities such as arts and crafts, cooking plus loads of things for you to get involved with.

Vicky Thomas
After more than 15 years as a stalwart on the Parish Council, Vicky’s family commitments mean she no longer feels able to continue as a Parish Councillor. Her great enthusiasm and love for our village is known to so many people and we would like to thank her for the tremendous contribution she has made over the years. We wish her well.
