The Executive Councilof the Board of Advocates is comprised of the student officers who make advocacy what it is at SMU. BOA officers serve all SMU students by providing quality learning opportunities in the area of oral and written advocacy. While demanding, being a member of the Executive Council is also an experience that rewards officers with the opportunity to make an impact on the school, its reputation in the legal community, and the students.

The BOA is the face of SMU Dedman School of Law to the world through its interactions with attorneys, judges, other law schools, and the public in general. Please keep this in mind and realize that listing actual and anticipated commitments will help us more accurately evaluate for which position you would be best suited.
