CNFA is a not-for-profit, international, agricultural development organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. We bring expertise in sustainable agricultural production, enterprise development, input supply and farm services, access to finance, livelihoods strengthening, processing and post-harvest management, and market access. CNFA has successfully implemented programs in around 44 countries.

CNFA is currently seeking technical experts for an anticipated Feed the Future Livestock Market Systems Activity in Kenya funded by USAID. The project will enable people, households, and communities to increase their resilience, sustainably moving out of poverty and chronic vulnerability to risk, recurrent shocks, and stresses. The positions are contingent upon receipt of donor funding.

The Positions

As we prepare to participate in this request for Application, we are keen to identify consultants with a range of expertise to facilitate the successful delivery. You will provide technical assistance to the Activity on national and county levels as required troubleshooting and aiding in the stimulation of economic growth across the project. You must be able to quickly build rapport with key government institutions, non-state actors and private sector organizations, as well as the Activity beneficiaries. There will be a requirement to travel to various counties. There may also be the need to be permanently located in a specific city or county, as required by the Activity.

The ideal candidate should have:

·  Substantial years of professional working experience delivering economic growth projects in one or more of the five expertise areas mentioned above in East Africa, desirably in Kenya

·  An advanced university degree (or equivalent) in business, agronomy, livestock, animal health and science, livestock management, or related field

·  Practical experience in the fields of business, agronomy, livestock, animal health and science, livestock management, or related field

·  Demonstrated ability to deliver results on donor funded projects

·  Excellent analytical and report writing skills

·  Strong networks/relationships in government and in county level governments, and demonstrated experience in being able to influence decision makers

·  Track record of facilitating relationships and partnerships between public and private sector actors

·  Demonstrated diplomatic and negotiation skills
