Bloxham School Eventer Challenge 2016 Series Scoring Information

The Bloxham Eventer Challenge is both a points accumulation and championship qualification competition, with points awarded after each of the six events in the series, and qualified riders competing in a final championship.

Points are awarded according to placing; Riders in 1st place are awarded 10 points, those in 2nd place are awarded 9 points, down to 1 point for 10th. Riders who are not placed but ride a double clear will also receive 1 point.

Pupils placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in each class on each day of the competition will be given a qualification card for the championship show on the 26th February 2017. If a rider has already qualified for the championship, the qualification card will be passed down to the next person.

The top 10 point scorers from each class throughout the qualifying series will also receive a qualification card, to ensure riders who have competed consistently during the series will have the chance to attend the final.

With the exception of the Novice/110 cm class, points are awarded to the rider only. If a rider rides more than 1 horse in the same class on the same day then they will only receive points from their highest placing. Riders may compete on different horses throughout the series and do not have to ride the horse that they qualified on in the final. The Novice/110 cm class points will be awarded to horse and rider combinations. A rider with more than one horse can therefore qualify for the final on both horses.

Points are not interchangeable between classes. There will be an overall series winner in each class, as well as prizes for those placed in the final competition.

If schools have more than 4 riders entered in one qualifying class, the school must declare which riders are to be counted as team scores for that day before the class starts or the first four riders listed on entries will automatically be put in the team. Teams do not accumulate points throughout the series.

If a school has more than 4 riders entered in a championship class, the top 4 riders from that school (those with the most accumulated points) will compete as a team to win a team prize at the final.
