BLAKENALL FAMILY PRACTICE NEWSLETTER

Hi

We are now in to summer and as usual with our British unpredictable summers we have had sun, rain, snow and everything else. On those special hot summer days we do get please take care and be sun aware see the link for information on how to stay safe http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/skin/Pages/Sunsafe.aspx

As some of you may know we are still experiencing problems with our telephone system. The problem with the telephones has been long term but we have some good news we are having a new system soon.

We have a new ANP (Advanced Nurse practitioner) called Janice, she can see people for most problems just like Lynda can. Dr Mashil is now back full time after a short illness

Did you know you can register to book your appointments on line please ask at the reception for more information, or simply google ‘patient access’ and you can register without any hassle. There is also a new facility where patients can access some of their medical records on line, if you are interested in this facility please give reception your details including name address and email and also bring with you some form of identity and we can set this up for you.

We now have an automated arrivals screen fitted this will save you having to wait in a queue to book yourself in for your appointment. You can also update your telephone number on the touchscreen.

We are changing the way we run our baby clinics as from 1st August 2016, instead of us having a baby clinic on a Wednesday afternoon we would like parents to book immunisations and 6 week child health checks at any day or times that is convenient to them, the reason for this is to allow new Moms to work around school pick up times for any older children and also if any Dads want to come along they are not restricted to a certain day or time.

We are looking at holding a coffee morning in the autumn in aid of Macmillan Cancer support we would appreciate any donations for raffle prizes and your support on the day come and buy a cake. We will be publishing more details nearer the time in surgery. Last year we raised £208.00 Thank you to all who came and joined us.

This is our second newsletter and we would appreciate feedback from you on any articles you would like us to include in future newsletters.

If anyone has any books or magazines they do not want we would appreciate you bringing them in to us to put in the waiting room. Thank you.

Just a reminder that although it is nice and warm now the Flu season starts here at surgery towards the end of September so if you are eligible and interested in a Flu jab for this coming winter lookout for our clinic days which will be advertised in surgery during September.
