JOB DESCRIPTION

1.0 POST: Supported Housing Project Worker

2.0 DEPARTMENT: Supported Housing

3.0 RESPONSIBLE TO: Supporting Housing Services Manager

4.0 RESPONSIBLE FOR: N/A

5.0 SALARY SCALE: Points 9 – 13 £19,464 - £22,332 (pro-rata)

5.1This position is a 6 month temporary role for 30 hours a week. Working days are can be taken over four days or five shorter days.

6.0 JOB OBJECTIVE/MAIN PURPOSE

6.1Promote a vibrant culture with an uncompromising commitment to excellence and fully integrated support and development services, reflecting the needs of those accessing the service.

6.2Work as part of an outcome focused team that works effectively with vulnerable adults; ensuring your work is of outstanding enduring quality and is responsive to the needs of clients and commissioners. Work in a way that consistently reflects best practice and ensures the services offers outstanding value for money.

6.3Ensure that the service provides a safe and welcoming environment to clients and visitors by being a first point of contact in the building. Provide a welcoming and professional environment answering general enquires, and providing a safe environment for service users, stakeholders and visitors by ensuring that house rules are followed.

6.4Follow the lead from line management to ensure that all performance and contractual targets are met and exceeded ensuring that all client data is recorded in a timely and accurate manner.

7.0 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Services

7.1Enable vulnerable adults to maximise and sustain their income by ensuring that all benefit claims are completed accurately and promptly and maintained throughout their time in the service.

7.2Enable vulnerable adults to manage risk by providing support, guidance and information on Health and Safety and support them in managing their physical environment.

7.3Undertake an in depth needs assessment identifying holistic needs and identifying risk factors for vulnerable adults

7.4Provide regular structured outcome-focused support and development sessions and respond appropriately to changing or crisis situations.

7.5Emphasize the work carried out with vulnerable adults by, empowering them to improve their life skills through the delivery of Solon Housing’s support and development model. Empower vulnerable adults to identify and maximise move on options and to continue to provide ongoing support to them through the transition period. To carry the work out in accordance with management guidance and in line with Solon Housing’s policies and procedures.

7.6Positively promote and support the benefits of developing and sustaining support networks.

7.7Provide advice and guidance to vulnerable adults on benefits, local service provision and the service complaints procedure.

7.8Facilitate and empower, by accompanying to appointments where necessary, vulnerable adults’ access to and take up of support services linking into the local community where possible.

7.9Respond appropriately to the welfare to vulnerable adults by informing management and working in accordance with local requirements and Solon Housing’s policies and procedures.

7.10Ensure all aspects of vulnerable adults’ files and service files are to Solon Housing’s required professional standard and that all aspects of Data Protection Act followed.

Housing Services

7.11Maximise rental income and minimise losses by managing rent accounts and lettings to the highest standard.

7.12Work as part of a team in cleaning and preparing accommodation for letting and ensure that all voids are advertised and communicated effectively. Ensure that the standards of the building are maintained by keeping the building tidy and carrying out and regular cleaning duties and minor emergency maintenance jobs as required.

7.13Ensure that premises are maintained to a high standard, and meet all legal and statutory requirements to operate safely, effectively and efficiently. Ensure that all maintenance needs are reported and progressed in accordance within agreed timeframes.

7.14Carry out regular building and health and safety inspections, identifying risk factors, responding accordingly, and carrying out basic repairs where possible. When required secure the input of the maintenance team ensuring that vulnerable adults receive a customer-focused service in accordance with Solon Housing’s policy.

7.15Carry out all necessary administration in relation to the role, keeping both IT & written records up to date, complying with Supporting People & Commissioners requirements.

7.16Observe and ensure personal safety and to safeguard the interests and safety of colleagues, residents and visitors ensuring the manager is kept up to date with information which will enable effective risk management.

8GENERAL

8.1Carry out other reasonable requests by Supported Housing Services Manager that is consistent with the nature and grade of the role.

8.2Accurately record and monitor data.

9.0 OTHER FEATURES OF THE JOB

9.1In discussion and agreement by the manager, it may be required to work outside of core hours.

10.0JOB LOCATION

The post holder will be located in the Association's registered office at RackfieldHouse in Bath.
