Be prepared to be inspired with a two-day workshop with Ms. Yellen!
The first day will concentrate on sergers. Understanding the components of your serger and developing a comfort level with using your serger is the basis of this program. It’s okay to be told what to do, but understanding what your serger does will encourage users to use theirserger. There will be many projects to reinforce learning with a special kit for class. The cost of the kit is included with the registration fee. Continental breakfast and lunch are also included.
The second day will be spent on embellishments. This will be a technique class and will include topics such as, the windows technique, finished edge applique, couching, twin needling, bound buttonholes and much more! Everything that you need is included in the projects kit for the class, and the kit is included in your registration fee! There will also be a trunk show so that you will have many ideas to spur your creativity. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
What do you need to bring? Basic sewing supplies plus your serger for Day #1, and your sewing machine for Day #2.
Our venue for this event is phenomenal! The Conference Center at Valley Forge is located at 1485 Valley Forge Road (Route 23), Phoenixville, PA 19460. It is a Bed & Breakfast venue, and if you wish to stay overnight, reservations must be made directly with the venue. Please call 610-935-9100 x110. You will need to provide a credit card number, but your card will not be charged until you arrive. The rooms have anywhere from 2-5 beds, and the room rate for any room is $95/night plus taxes. Room with a sewing buddy/buddies and save money! The venue is also a BYOB so feel free to enjoy a glass of your favorite adult beverage after a great day. Numerous restaurants to suit any taste can be found in downtown Phoenixville, just 5 minutes away.
Registration is open to all immediately, and we will maintain a waiting list. The maximum number of attendees for this event, based solely on the electrical capacity of the space at the venue, is 28.
