PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ FLOOR AND VAULT COMPETITION
WEDNESDAY29th MARCH
TO BE HELD AT WILTSHIRESCHOOL OF GYMNASTICS
START 9am (WARM UP at 9.30am)
Each school team will be 6 competitors. Each team will have at least 2 Pupils completing the Beginners sequence and at least 2 Pupils completing the Advanced Sequence, with all six scores counting towards the team total. All Routines are Scored out of 10.The object of the competition is to celebrate gymnastics and give encouragement.
To help us track the able gymnasts could you please name them, give the name of the school and any gym club they might belong to.
There will also be a separate Elite competition for those Pupils who train at Gymnastics club outside of School for 5 hours or more per week.

BEGINNERS = Only take part in Gymnastics during School Lessons and Possibly for 1 hour at an After School Club or Recreational Gymnastics session.
ADVANCED = As Beginners but can also attend a Gymnastics Club outside of School for no more than 5 hours per week. (Or pupils in years 1 – 3 training under 10 hours per week)
ELITE = Group A: Attend an outside Gymnastics club and train for more than 5 hours per week.
Group B: Attend an outside Gymnastics club and train for more than 10 hours per week.
FLOOR EXERCISE
BEGINNERS SET FLOOR ROUTINE (NO MUSIC)
- Star jump
- Forward roll to stand (Optional)
- Jump ½ turn
- Roll back to shoulder stand
- Straddle sit
- Teddy bear roll
- Dish, roll over to arch
- Front support to crouch, jump to stand
- FINISH
ADVANCED SET FLOOR ROUTINE (NO MUSIC)

- Forward roll
- Jump ½ turn
- Backward roll to straddle
- Cartwheel
- Forward roll to straddle sit, 1 teddy bear roll, feet together
- Push to bridge
- Dish, roll over to arch
- Front support to crouch, jump to stand
- FINISH
Moves 1 to 4 travel in one direction down a strip of mats: the remainder of the moves return in the opposite direction.
ELITE ROUTINE
Routines must consist of 6 of the following 15 moves.
