Pre-Academy Meeting

An informational meeting for the BCPO @ The Academy will be held on January 11th, 1:00 p.m.. All recruits registered to attend Session IX are required to attend this meeting. Information regarding the required books, uniforms and other materials required will be provided.

In order to keep the overall costs of the BCPO at a minimum, the daily uniform for each recruit is the duty uniform of the recruit’s home agency. In addition, the following supplies will be needed during the firearms training portion of the session:

  • 1800 Rounds of semi-automatic pistol duty ammunition (for the weapon brought).
  • 20 Rounds 12 ga. Shotgun 00 buck (reduced recoil acceptable).
  • 5 Rounds 12 ga. Shotgun rifled slug (reduced recoil acceptable).
  • 20 Rounds 12 ga. Shotgun birdshot (low base, #7 shot acceptable)
  • 100 Rounds Patrol Rifle Ammunition (.223 if not bringing a department rifle)
  • The usual number of rounds shot during this school is approximately 1500. The extra 300 rounds allow us flexibility if a particular class is advanced, or we have problem shooters who require extra range time. Any extra rounds will be returned if not used. Please contact us with any issues / concerns with the ammunition requirements.

Each participating agency is also requested to assist with the training being conducted by providing the following:

  • One vehicle for Emergency Vehicle Operation Course … needs to be a make/model of what your department currently uses.
  • One RADAR equipped vehicle
