Themes for this half term
We are busy settling the children into new routines and providing new experiences for them. It is a time for us all to get to know each other.
- Settling In
Activities, stories and play will be about new experiences, routines and feelings, as well as getting to know each other with and our Nursery.
- Starting with a story
We often use a story as a starting point in Nursery to inspire the children with their learning and development. This half term our stories are:
- When we went to the park – Shirley Hughes
- Handa’s Surprise – Eileen Browne
There are links with autumn, harvest, early numeracy and early literacy skills with thesebooks and stories.
We sing a lot of number songs and nursery rhymes. We count lots of things around Nursery and we will be listening and discriminating sounds as an early start to phonics.
Please help your child to read their name every session as they arrive and promote our question through discussion at home.
Correspondence from Main School
