1. HR - Biographic/Demographic

1.1 Active Employee Condition

General Description: Previously, users were required to develop a custom condition to limit results to Active Employee in the Current Employee universe. A pre-defined condition is now available in the Data Warehouse to allow users to return only Active Employees in reports run in the Current Employee universe.

Technical Description: The pre-defined condition was created to meet the requirements.

Universe Affected:EDW - Current Employee

1.2 Count Object and Headcount

General Description: Users are now able to conduct count totals and distinct counts based on persons in the Current Employee universe.

Technical Description: A count object has been added. In addition, an object has been added to provide distinct counts based on EDW_PERS_ID in the Current Employee universe.

Universe Affected:EDW - Current Employee

1.3 Telephone Number Presentation

General Description: Telephone numbers were previously displayed in the Data Warehouse as straight seven-digit numbers with no breaks (i.e., 1234567). Telephone numbers will now be displayed with hyphen breaks for number prefixes (i.e., 123-4567). Area codes are included in a separate data field and are not affected by this change.

Technical Description: The Telephone number object was modified in both universes. A dash is added if the string length is 7.

Universe Affected:EDW - Current Employee

HR Biographic/Demographic

2. Financial Aid

2.1 General Student Record & Admit Term

General Description: Because there are tuition and aid implications to students having started before or after a certain date, the Admit Term has been added to the General Student Record in the Financial Aid Universe.

Technical Description: The STUDENT_ADMIT_TERM_CD and STUDENT_ADMIT_TERM_DESC details have been added to the Financial Aid EDW Universe under the Student History class. This information has implications for tuition and aid.

Universe Affected:EDW - Financial Aid

2.2 Budget Total

General Description: The Budget Total object previously pulled incorrect data from an incorrect table location. The Budget Total object has been modified to pull data from the correct source. Reports using the Budget Total object will now return correct results.

Technical Description: The Budget Total object incorrectly pulled the Budget Component amount data from the T_FA_STUDENT_BUDG_COMPNT.FA_STUDENT_BUDG_COMPNT_AMT. The Budget Total object has been corrected in the Data Warehouse to pull data from the T_FA_STUDENT_BUDG_TOT.FA_STUDENT_BUDG_TOT_AMT.

Universe Affected:EDW - Financial Aid

2.3 Racial/Ethnic Codes

General Description: In the past, Applicants who did not enter a Racial/Ethnic Code were erroneously excluded from results based on Racial/Ethnic Code. This resulted in incorrect counts and report results.

This issue has been resolved, and all counts based on Racial/Ethnic Code will return correct and inclusive results.

Technical Description: Applicants who do not have a RACE_ETH_HIST records were erroneously excluded from counts based on Racial/Ethnic Code. All racial code tables have been connected with outer joins to ensure that counts return results as expected.

Universe Affected:EDW - Current Recruit

EDW - Current Applicant
EDW - Financial Aid

2.4 Zero Value and NULL Value

General Description: Several values in the Financial Aid EDW were being erroneously loaded as zeros when their true value was NULL. Because zero is a valid value, this resulted in incorrect report results. The Data Warehouse has been modified to correctly load these values as NULL.

Technical Description: Several values in the T_FA_APPLICANT_STATUS (such as the APPLICANT_STATUS_GROSS_NEED) were being improperly loaded into the Financial Aid EDW as ‘zero’ values instead of NULL. The mappings have been changed to allow NULL values in these tables to be loaded correctly.

Universe Affected:EDW - Financial Aid

3. Student Recruiting & Admissions

3.1 ACT Composite Score

General Description: A new object has been added to display the Maximum ACT Composite score for each person in the Current Recruit or Current Applicant universes. All Recruits and Applicants will be listed, even if they have no ACT score. In these cases, the column will be blank.

Technical Description: Object has been changed to meet the requirements.

Universe Affected:EDW - Current Recruit

EDW - Current Applicant

3.2 Application Source Object

General Description: The Current Applicant universe did not contain an object for Application Source. This object has been added to the Current Applicant universe. Users may now use this object to create reports as necessary.

Technical Description: An object for Application Source has been added to the Current Applicant universe. This object is sourced from the T_ADM_APPL_SRC_HIST.ADM_APPL_SRC_SBGI_NAME table.

Universe Affected:EDW - Current Applicant

3.3 Attribute Codes

General Description: Recruits and Applicants who did not have Attributes entered were erroneously excluded from counts and reports based on Attribute. This resulted in incorrect results.

This issue has been addressed, and counts based on Attributes will return results as expected.

Technical Description: Applicants and Recruits who did not have Attribute records were excluded from counts as ‘blanks’. This issue has been addressed with outer joins between the relevant tables. Counts will now return correct and inclusive results.

Universe Affected:EDW - Current Recruit

EDW - Current Applicant

3.4 Headcount Object

General Description: A Headcount object has been added to the Current Recruit and Current Applicant universes to allow users to conduct counts of distinct persons. This feature was unavailable previously.

Technical Description: A distinct count based on EDW_PERS_ID has been added to the Current Recruit and Current Applicant universes. Users may now create counts on distinct persons, regardless if there are multiple records.

3.5 Racial/Ethnic Codes

General Description: In the past, Applicants or Recruits who did not enter a Racial/Ethnic Code were erroneously excluded from results based on Racial/Ethnic Code. This resulted in incorrect counts and report results.

This issue has been resolved, and all counts based on Racial/Ethnic Code will return correct and inclusive results.

Technical Description: Applicants and Recruits who did not have a RCE_ETH_HIST records were erroneously excluded from counts based on Racial/Ethnic Code. All five (5) racial code tables have been connected with outer joins to ensure that counts return results as expected.

3.6 Source Background Institution Code

General Description: The Current Recruit universe did not contain the Source Background Institution Code (SBGI) in the High School Data class. This information has been added to the universe. Users may now include this information on reports.

Technical Description: The Source Background Institution Code (SBGI) information has been added to the Current Recruit universe. The data is sourced from the T_HS_HIST.SBGI_CD table.

Universe Affected:Current Recruit

3.7 Test Taken Date Object

General Description: Previously, the Test Taken Date was not included as part of the Test Results in the Current Recruit universe. If a Recruit had retaken a test, a new record was created, but the Test Taken Date did not appear in the universe. This resulted in the appearance of duplicate rows when certain reports were run, when in fact there were multiple records. The Test Score Receipt Term has been renamed to Test Taken Date. Users should use the Test Taken Date object to eliminate the appearance of duplicate rows.

Technical Description: If a Recruit retakes a test, Banner creates a new record for that Recruit. Because the Test Taken Date was part of the key for test records, but not included in the universe, reports would result in the appearance of duplicate rows, when in fact multiple records existed. The Test Score Receipt Term object has been renamed Test Taken Date in the Current Recruit universe to eliminate this problem.
