FREE Performance for P-Yr 4 students, June2016

Your site is invited to attend a FREE performance by Bright Spark Entertainment, provided by Wipe out Waste and Zero Waste SA. This entertaining and interactive 45minute performance covers reducing food packaging in schools and preschools,recycling systems, and use of two and three bin systems.The audience is preschool- Year 4 students, school staff and parents.The performanceis valued at $5 per student, but is being sponsored by Zero Waste SA through Wipe Out Waste.

Shows are being performed at host schools in your region and transportation to the venue must be arranged by individual sites.

Wipe Out Waste – WOW is a South Australianprogram forsites, preschool to Year 12, which supports learning about and reducing waste. WOW supports a whole school community approach to waste management and learning. This integrated and interactive education program for schools aims to:

  • Improve systems to reduce waste and recover resources in schools
  • Monitor progress and continually improve resource recovery (waste) outcomes in the schools
  • Encourage and influence people to adopt more sustainable behaviour.

Through innovative and engaging theatre experiences, Bright Spark Entertainment aims to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of students, the community and environment.

A package of support materials for sites attending the performancewill include:

  • PowerPoint’s and curriculum materials for staff use around the Waste Hierarchy- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
  • Brochures for parents
  • Lunchbox stickers
  • Less to Landfill Challenge- on line
  • Links to council waste education or sustainability education staff.

To book your site into this performance, please fill out the details below. Transportation to the venue must be arranged by individual sites. Performances times are scheduled to enable the use of school buses and sites may wish to utilise parent transport to and from venues.Parents are encouraged to attend if they can.
