SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 27, 2013
The Board of Trustees held a Special Meeting on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. at the School Administration Building with Chairwoman Ann Boston presiding. Trustees present: Patti Hepola, Scott Ferguson, Linda Sorini Granger, Vikki O’Brien, Debbie Shea and Carol Wold. Absent: Trustee John Ries. Also present were: Judy Jonart, Superintendent, J.R. Richardson, Business Manager and Therese McClafferty, Director of Human Resources.
CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Item 1 – Approval of Travel Request
a) Jim O’Neill and Mollie Keeley to Eugene, Oregon on July 20-25, 2013 to attend the 39th Annual National Direct Instruction Conference and Institute - $2,351.00 to be paid from the Title 1 Grant and $2,351.60 to be paid from the General Fund.
Wold moved to approve, second by Granger, motion carried.
Item 2 – Approval of Contract between Butte School District #1 and the State of Montana, Office of Court Administrator and the 2nd Judicial District Youth Court to Fund a High School Student Intervention Program – Superintendent Jonart
Superintendent Jonart requested Board approval of the Contract between Butte School District #1 and the State of Montana, Office of Court Administrator and the 2nd Judicial District Youth Court to fund a high school student intervention program. The total payment of the this contract will not exceed $55,000.00 and will be used to partially fund the high school graduation coach position for the 2013-2014 school years.
Hepola moved to approve, second by Wold, motion carried.
Item 3 – Approval to Implement a Paperless Management Solution through EduPortal e-Convene – Superintendent Jonart
Superintendent Jonart requested Board approval to implement a paperless management solution through EduPortal e-Convene that would allow the Butte School District to prepare the monthly Board agendas and Board packets using an electronic management system.
EduPortal provides a 24/7 secure cloud based access that allows Board members to electronically access agenda notices as well as the contents of the Board packet.
The paperless management solution will provide not only faster more efficient management of Board meetings; it will reduce District cost significantly.
Granger moved to approved, second by Hepola, motion carried.

Item 7 – Approval of Change Order #2 (Bulldog Memorial Complex Repairs) in the Amount of $ 60,917.39 – Jed Hoopes
Jed Hoopes requested Board approval of Change Order #2 (Bulldog Memorial Stadium Complex Repairs) requested from Bentley Construction.
Mr. Hoopes stated that the change order adequately protects the Bulldog Stadium Complex. The total cost for the change order is $60,917.39 and will be funded using either the High School General fund, High School Building fund or the High School Building Reserve fund.
Wold moved to approve, second by Shea, motion carried.

There being no further business to come before the Board, Trustee Hepola moved to adjourn, second by Trustee Granger, motion carried. Chairwoman Boston adjourned the meeting at 7:15 a.m.
