The Bowling team will need to be dismissed from school at 2:45 to be at the Career Complex at 3:00to go to Paradise Lanes for a match with the Terry Bull Dogs.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

  1. The Senior Black Out pep rally will be held on NOV. 9th. See you there!
  2. MOD (room E104 and E106)is selling muffins and drinks before school and during homeroom
  3. Basketball season tickets can be purchased for $45.00.There are 11 home games this year. Basically you get 2 games free. If interested in purchasing, see Coach Norton in the Athletic Office
  4. Football tickets are being pre-sold this week in the Athletic Office from 7:30 to 2:30 each day. They are $7.00 each. The only passes that will work are MHSAA Statewide Passes. No other passes, including Big Red Arrow, Reserved Seats, CPSD Employee passes, etc.will be allowed. If you do have reserved seats, you may sit inthat seat, but you have to purchase a ticket.
  5. NHS students: The final service projects are listed in W207. If you have not completed both service projects for this semester, you must come by and sign up for what is currently offered.
  6. History club members don't forget to ask your teachers if they have veterans in their family. We need the names and their relation to the teacher.
  7. Chess Club: We meet Tuesday & Thursdays in E208 before school to play.Interested memberssign up before school, after school or during homeroom.Membership dues are $2 & the deadline is Friday, Nov. 9th.
  8. Clinton High Tennis Team will have a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, November 13, at 4:00 in room 115 at Clinton Junior High, Coach Duke's room. All players need to attend unless playing another sport. Please email Coach Duke if you can not attend.
  9. ANCHOR CLUB:There are several other service projects listed outside Mrs. Berry's door.There is another sing-a-longon November 15
  10. Interested in playing Volleyball? Mississippi Impact is a club volleyball team based out of the Metro Area. It is for all ages and skill levels. They are offering camps for basic skills and positional work. Tryouts will be Saturday November 10th. If you are interested come by Coach Denson's room in E207 to pick up the forms for tryouts and Skills Camps. Come between classes or homeroom!
  11. Anyone interested in going to Disney World this summer, please see Mr. Solis, Señora, Mrs. Tompkins or Mrs. Woodard-Berry.
  12. Any student interested in going to Spain this summer should come pick up information from Mr. Freeny in W113.

GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Templeton Press is sponsoring an essay contest that is open to any high school senior who intends to enroll at an institution of higher learning by fall of 2013. The contest has no special requirements; it only asks each entrant to write a thoughtful essay about his or her life's purpose. Contestants will be judged solely on the quality of their ideas and their ability to express themselves. The contest carries prizes ranging from $1,000 up to $5,000 and it runs through December 31, 2012. Full entry information can be found at:

Any student that needs a letter of recommendation from their counselor must complete a Counselor Recommendation Packet prior to requesting a recommendation letter. The packet must be fully completed in order for a recommendation letter to be written. Students must allow 5 working days for completion. MUW Scholars' Day will be held on November 9th, 2012 and March 8, 2013. Students must meet the following criteria: Minimum ACT composite score of 24, Minimum 3.0 College Prep Curriculum, interview required. For an application go to . Application, Transcript and ACT scores must be submitted in order to attend.

Get 2 College/Education Services Foundation will be awarding 50, $1,000 scholarships to students who participate in their 500 word essay contest. Essay topics are "You've just written a 300 word autobiography. Send us page 217." Completed application and essay is due Dec. 1st. The applications can be found in the Career Center in the Counseling Office or online at

The Mississippi Governor’s School: The Mississippi Governor’s School is a residential honors program for 10th and 11th grade AP and Honor students and is held each summer on the campus of Mississippi University for Women. Student who are selected for this three week residential program receive a full scholarship for tuition, room and board. The dates for the 2013 session are June 2-21 and the theme is Going Global. Millsaps College Offers Major Minds of Mississippi Scholarship Program: Eligible students will be awarded a minimum of $22, 000 per year in scholarship funds. Any admitted student to Millsaps College is eligible for the scholarship program if he/she: has a 3.8 unweighted GPA, a composite score of 28 or higher on the ACT or a 1260 composite score of SAT and is a resident of the state of Mississippi. Students who apply for admission and complete an application file by Dec. 1 for early action or Feb. 1 for regular decision will automatically be considered for the scholarship program.
